"The truth is," she pauses for effect, glancing left and right, "for the past fifteen years, I've been..... in outer space." She looks him dead in the eye here, face stone cold, before continuing, this time in a hurried tone.

"Y'see, the government wants everyone to think it's impossible, but that's just cause they're secretly contacting aliens to try and make a trade for their tech to get rid of the wizard once and for all. After I retired from the ring, I got contacted to go on a super secret mission to meet the aliens in person and negotiate with them. Training took years and years, and the journey there ALSO took years, but I made it with my team and we met the alien high council! Unfortunately they said we didn't have anything they wanted yet and to try back again in about fifty years, so we had to go home empty handed. In disgrace, I went back to my old stomping grounds and got a simple job, then I got picked as the Dragon Knight, and that's what I've been up to!"

She keeps a straight face for as long as possible, through whatever Garrot could possibly say in response to such an outlandish story, before she finally bursts into laughter.
