Garrot just waits and listens. He went totally off-script there (sorry, kids!) but it... doesn't look like a bad thing? They're not screaming at each other. Nobody's punching rocks (and Gyre's hand looks fine enough?) so... it's an improvement? But he can see his pal's eyes darting to that glittery clone again and again. And Gyre's laying on the compliments, which is really weird. It's all a lot to process, but then there's the poke into the double's cheek.

"Yeah, but it's like... I'm wearing layers." Garrot will have to run some tests of his own tonight. "Y'know, I accidentally made one of these earlier, and I wouldn't have figured this out if you didn't give me the idea to talk to Xaljim. Thanks!" He's smiling again, and it's genuine and warm. He'll give credit where it's due, but the warmth fades in a moment. Garrot's posture stiffens, and his levity is mixed with a stoic professionalism. They need to address the elephant in the room.

"But... while I honestly appreciate the concern, I have no intention of martyring myself for anyone." His clone's posture has also stiffened, albeit with a few seconds delay. Garrot's past trying to be nice, past anger. Right now, he's being smart. "It is undeniably advantageous for as many of us to survive to fight the Wizard as possible." More people means more distractions so he can rip her limb from limb with as many of his and his clones' limbs as he needs. There's a faint twitch at the corner of his lips at that thought.

"Unlike me, the Wizard's meddling is all they've known. If they grew up in this world without preparing for the possibility of being Chosen, that is their choice. Mine is to give them all a push and hope they learn to fly when they fall from the nest." These are good people, and some of them will die. It's just like a hospital. But it's nice to have something to work towards, something to hope for, that isn't just single-mindedly eviscerating the Wizard. Garrot sighs loud and deep as he stares out into the ocean, lost in thought. Is this what his father was going through, all those years ago?
