They don't lean into his hand that long, and instead take a hold of it and lower both their hands onto their lap to keep them there, if Gyre allows them to. They've been worried too, and seeing him alright and feeling his hand in theirs helps ease those worries.

"I don't know if she meant to do it, apparently she was hurt already at that point, and pretty bad too... but it's good that she did that, we found out that our monster didn't like the water." They do tell him about the fight since he asked, but they're skillfully avoiding their involvement, because at some point, Gyre is going to find out how huge the Bamborough monster is, and if they tell him they were on top of its head, well... let's not think how he'd react to that. "Garrot and Gail apparently did some good damage to it after Matilda and I had a go with it... Seth and Haizea did the rest, and Seth apparently managed to use his wires to toss it into the ocean."
