Day 2: Evening
Evening: 5:00pm - Midnight
[ IRL Timeframe: April 14th - April 22nd, 2019 ]Unfortunately for everyone, the second day's events are far less rewarding than the first day's. Now that things are starting to get real, there are consequences for what's taken place. Both monsters caused a bit of damage and a mess with their departure, but the locals on the island are trying to stay positive. Sometimes things just get messy, they've dealt with this for forty years it's fine.
But the heroes are sure to have a lot on their mind. Injuries mean it's less of a game and more likely to sink in as real. How will your hero cope tonight? The Princess and her two knights are due for a rendezvous with the Protector and, on the other hand, there are some evil-allured knights due for some private time with the Wizard. What will come of that?
The Weather
- Still.
- 61°F / 16°C
- An eerie calm has fallen over the island.
Prompts:
- 05:00pm Clean-up Crews: Both Bamborough and Craydon were left with big neon-green splashes of blood that aren't going to just wash off. Numerous locals in both areas are hard at work cleaning up after the second monsters, scrubbing at buildings and assessing the damage to the island. In Bamborough, the locals are hard at work trying to salvage the damage to the boardwalk or put up caution tape around the destroyed areas. Is your hero lending a hand in all this? Is someone else helping? Bond over picking up the pieces, but hey... it could be worse, right?
- 5:30pm, Craydon: Despite being largely untouched by the monster's arrival, the citizens of Craydon have dropped by the train station to check in on the heroes. Anyone in the area will be given a small care package of items and offered a free coupon for any restaurant in the area. Will your hero go alone and run into someone who was craving the same food they were, or will they team up with their fellow heroes to drop by a restaurant together? Everyone needs to unwind, after all!
- 5:30pm, Bamborough: Despite the boardwalk damage, the Bamborough oceanfront diner is offering 'monster margaritas' tonight. They're set up as an open-air bar tonight, doors and windows open to let in the cool sea air. Every hero gets their first monster margarita free if they can stomach the bright green color, and they've got deep fried bar foods for half off. Come in, indulge, have a drink to get your mind off of the events of the day, heroes!
- 5:30pm, Far Haven: The Far Haven clinic has advertised that its doors are open to any hero injured, or just in need of a check-up, for the rest of the evening. They want to check in on all the heroes and make sure they're okay. Did your hero come alone and run into someone here? Or did they come together to get stitched up? Or maybe they just need to be reassured that everything will be okay.
- 8:30pm, 9:05pm, 9:40pm, Train station(s): As always, Social media is incredibly quick to report Wizard appearances. At 8:00pm they report that the Wizard is waiting for the train in Bamborough station. She does, in fact, board the train at 8:30pm and they start theorizing where her destination is. Social media points out that her train will be arriving in Craydon at 9:05pm, then it will get to Far Haven by 9:40pm. If a hero tries to find her when the train arrives back in the Bamborough station at 10:15pm, though, the train will be empty. Where will your hero find her? Bamborough between 8 and 8:30pm? On the train in Craydon at 9:05pm? Or when she disembarks in Far Haven at 9:40pm?

She spends an equal amount of time trying to help the clean up efforts, and sprawling in the sand like she's died there. She's still in her monster blood romper, her hands smell like lime scrambled eggs, and she just wants to take a nap.

Honestly, the cleaning gives her a much welcome chance to wind down too. All the tiger-riding and monster-stabbing was fun, but a good, mindless slime-mopping was just what Rory needed right now.

He's also not going to clean in these nasty clothes. The blood is turning his pants into cardboard, and he can't deal with it at all. This is to say, a little before the cleaning starts, there is a wild elf raiding a clothing store, looking utterly and completely lost as he tries to figure out what sizes are? How are shelves even organized honestly? Who would ever go to a place like this on purpose??
Later, he'll be in a pair of stolen, dark skinny jeans and nothing else, his gem tucked into his pocket. He used one of the hoses for a little bit to wash his cloths and his hair out, throwing his clothes up into the branches of a tree to dry. But now, he's fully engaged with the cleaning efforts, standing up high on a step ladder to he can wash down the front of the train. He's soaking wet and covered in soap, and his tongue is stuck just slightly out as he focuses on scrubbing a particularly stubborn green stain out of the front wind shield.
5:30pm, Craydon
The care package contains: Little handmade cookies and chocolates, some jerky, a bottle of handcrafted beer, a travel mug with a few instant coffees in it, a little towel, and most importantly: a little set of handmade soap and shampoo.

She looks around for anyone who could join her. Eating alone is depressing.

They have ended up with a care package of their own, and uh, they're just carrying it with them, they don't know what else to do with it. They can't go back to where they're staying, they want to check in on the Knights in Craydon, they'd rather hear from them how their monster fight went instead of through social media. Which they can't navigate that well actually so, better get the news directly from those involved.
So, they're kind of, just wandering around, trying to spot some of the other Knights.
no subject
Looking around he tried to spot a nice, preferably centaur sized restaurant. Or just a restaurant with a high roof so he wouldn't die. This was free food, what did he even want?? He can't use free food coupon to just ANYTHING it has to be something special.

"Gail...! Hi, what are you doing here in Craydon? I thought you were still in Bamborough?" Then again, they had been in Bamborough, but here they are now.

"Get me two more of these, please?" He gestures towards the monster margarita, before snatching up a mozzarella stick from the place next to him. "And if any other Knights or the Princess show up, they're on my tab!" Those words are shouted, and with the grace of a trainwreck, Garrot shoves a deep fried cheese tube into his mouth, downs the entire margarita in one breath, and then eats two more cheese tubes.

However, after giving up on finding any hotels that looked safer than her last one, she stopped by the bar and had downed one monster margarita —which, to her delight, matched the dried green gore on her person perfectly—, when she heard someone loudly exclaim they'd pay for Knight's drinks. Her eyes spotted the source not too far from her, and although the two hadn't talked yet, she recognized Garrot as a fellow Knight.
She hesitates for a moment, looking down at her blood-splattered self. In the blink of an eye, her appearance changed a few times as she considered how to approach him before finally... deciding not to use her masking powers at all. He's a Knight, after all, he'll probably understand her current situation, right? She can't possibly look much worse than usual, anyway. She approaches him, careful not to bump into any other people, tail wrapped around one of her legs.]
Hey...! Um, I don't think we've been properly introduced? I'm the Ox Knight. Olivia. [She says, a well-practiced friendly smile on her lips.]

He's holding his phone close up to his ear as his screen-reading app rapidly reads off clickbait headlines and trending tweets relating to the day's events. He's half-heartedly listening with his eyes closed, more focused on the salty breeze off the ocean and the sound of crashing waves.

This brings him to the bar area, and he's only now realized that this place is busy. "Fuck," he murmurs under his breath, scanning over the civilians milling around each other. There are a couple familiar faces here, but he's not going to beeline to them just yet.
Instead, he plants himself at the bar, taking over a corner of it which he's guarding like a dragon to keep even the tiniest sliver of privacy around himself. He has an almost untouched green margarita in front of him, as well as a monstrous pile of wings which he's slowly, steadily working through, and he's definitely not wearing a shirt under the soft blue blanket he's holding closed around himself.

Wearing a new one piece, a black vest and shorts, she busts into the diner and orders all of the onion rings they have. Then she stops the waiter and reiterates she wants all of the onion rings they have. She knows what she’s about, son.
She’ll take the free monster margarita, but she’s not about to pound that sucker down. While she’s wearing her hair down tonight to obscure it, her head is still wrapped in a layer of bandages that go over her forehead and around and it’s an annoying reminder of her carelessness in the fight earlier.

Re: 5:30pm, Bamborough
But he was still hungry.
So when he hears of the open-air bar and that many of the knights are there, after a bit of hesitation he heads over.
He could get something to eat, hopefully not get too overwhelmed since it was a bar...and hopefully check a bit more specifically on Haizea, since all he really knew was the text he'd gotten from Garrot and he wanted to see with his own eyes she was okay...she'd been really cool and nice.
So now here he is, standing at the edge of the bar, unsure what to do.
5:30pm, Far Haven
8:00pm, Far Haven, Garrot's House, Private with Zafika
Regardless, when Zafika nears Garrot's house, the scent of seafood and spices is wafting out an open window, having already formed a cloud in the street. If he knew the second monster would launch bloody saltwater on them he might've gone for something else, but alas. He went shopping yesterday. It sounds like he's not still cooking, at least!

8:30pm, 9:05pm, 9:40pm, Train station(s)
Where will your hero find her? Bamborough between 8 and 8:30pm? On the train in Craydon at 9:05pm? Or when she disembarks in Far Haven at 9:40pm?
8:10 - Bamborough Train Station
Yeah, it was stupid. And so was the fact that the planet had to fight for their own existence every year.
-FWIP-
There's a light-yellow-tannish knife flying straight at the Wizard, apparently.
