They take the notepad back and, when Gyre blinks, they're gone. When he blinks a second time, he's back on the rooftop he'd found them on initially. Except this time, they're not there. The roof is empty now, with no sign of them and no sign of anything else. The elevator behind him slides shut, slowly descending to a lower floor without him.

Whatever that was, he probably has more questions now than before.
