What, Gyre doesn't want to have his hair frizzed out in every direction by an oppressive gust of wind being blown directly into his face? As he pursues after the obelisk, the wind chills out. It's still breezy and still definitely there if he keeps trying to climb the mountain.

The Obelisk, predictably, does not answer Gyre and cannot speak. If the Obelisk does speak, please ignore it.

So, naturally, the Obelisk speaks. By the time Gyre's within ten feet of it, he'll hear a child speaking into his ear no more than a few inches away from him. If he looks, there's no one, but their voice is absolutely right there.
