Well, Ten is mostly wrapped up in his own thoughts while Joanna is wrapped up in her own. He's already shaking away his previous answer as she asks a really, really deep question but he starts scritching away at an answer only a few moments after she's finished asking it.

The answer takes a startlingly short amount of time to write because he holds it up almost immediately after writing it:
