Garrot still utterly hates this situation as far as he can comprehend it, and Gyre's compassion gives him such a mix of emotions that he barely knows how to process any of it. He's supposed to be the one who helps people, and he's so bad at helping right now! But Gyre's able to pick up the child easily enough, and then he's back, and they can keep going, and it's going to be okay.
