He does miss! Exclusively because she panics when she sees him draw a weapon. She pulls back wildly, stumbling for a moment before turning back towards him. She's already preparing for something weird by the time he recovers from his swing, and she rocks strangely on one foot as she rears one hand back...

...and hurls the axe at Gyre.

It's a fucking awful throw. It tumbles badly in the air, blade in every direction, and if Gyre somehow decides to let it hit him it won't even hurt him as the butt of the head plonks sadly into him.

But she'd thrown it to get some space. The moment the axe is out of her hand, she's running away from him and over towards the bags she'd dragged here!!
