He sighs and leans back when she rejects his help, setting his hand on his hip and waiting for her to stop grumping. The position means he's perfectly framed against the sky when she asks that absurd question and his face twists in absolute confusion. He looks just as incredulous as she sounds, waving a hand as if to dismiss her entirely.

"Because they look like a child," he says, arching an eyebrow down at her. "And they were acting like a child, scared and... running." And yelling at him in a language he didn't know. Would she know that language? He wants to get them near each other so badly, but he doesn't want to force her when she's having such an unpleasant time.
