He can't help but smile very slightly, revealing his own mouthful of shark teeth. It's a thoughtless expression, and he returns to staring confusedly at her a moment later.

"What do you mean? Why do they look like that then?" he asks, and then his gaze scatters, darting around as he realizes there's a more important detail here. "I need them to not throw me into a mountain. I need... I want to know how to help them without it killing all of us." He offers this out to her with a clear note of hope in his voice. Maybe she knows something that'd help him? Maybe she'll give him some amount of information??
