He hums softly, the noise more or less amused at least, and he draws his hand away from Luka. It had felt right in the moment, but feeling him stiffen like that makes him back off immediately.

"Compassionate. Sensible. They're the same when we have to work together," he says matter-of-factly. "All of this is too important to push someone away for a little peace of mind. Things are going to change this year. I want it to be for the better."
