He just needs more then this. He's certain of his position, but he also knows his certainty is based on the words of people with their own interests.

"I don't want anyone else to die either. Not to this game anyway," and while he doesn't say it, anyone in this case also means the monsters. Dude's gonna keep stepping between swords until it kills him or he's given a reason not to.
