First, Garrot waits. He remembers that wild elves aren't really big on things like handshakes. The fact that Gyre remembers, and even commits enough to the gesture to squeeze his hand a little, means a lot to the Monkey Knight. It's such a minor thing, and with everything that's been happening-
Garrot rolls his eyes at the notion that losing one's head makes you fine, and immediately moves to walk with Gyre. Maybe they're going somewhere quieter and less likely to attract the attention of the paparazzi? A vaguely-infamous Knight is talking with someone who was just gone for a day. They really don't need to deal with that shit. But rather than dwelling on optics...
"I think we're both glad that I can walk on my own this time." He laughs, clearly making light of the fact that he got blown up and mind whammied. If he won't do it first, nobody else will! But the laugh fades, and Garrot is, of all things, somber. "I... Thanks." He takes a moment, and moves to delicately place his hand on Gyre's arm. It's harder because they're walking, but he still tries.

"For helping me get down the mountain, I mean."
