All of Garrot's tough guy posturing sort of melts like an ice cream cone in a fireplace once he can register that Luka's kind of... really caught off guard by that. The Princess's follow-up is plenty awkward and choppy enough to drive home that he, uh, really misread that one! So he patiently waits for Luka, a knot forming in his stomach because he can see that hand tremble, because the Princess is dodging around actually going with him, and-

"Yeah. I-" He sighs, closing his eyes and letting his shoulders slump a bit. "Sorry. The Wizard's a touchy subject, I shouldn't have-" He trails off for a moment before steeling his resolve, inhaling sharply and... "It's not just me. My kids lost their parents to these monsters, to her." Garrot sighs again, this time with more of a pained little whine. He hates talking about their pasts like this.
