Well this sucks! Gyre was already feeling unsteady on his feet, but then the Princess vanishes and, more importantly, the sky begins to break apart. An existential fear hits him, one that's familiar only because Sxicq threw him into space only a day or two ago. He doesn't understand it, and he can't follow it. All he knows is that he's between these two, and the monsters have vanished.

Before their fighting resumes, he suddenly darts to the side, trying to run to where the portal just opened up. He wants to go with them, and he doesn't want to be here.

Which is to say, he smashes directly into one of the mirrored walls as it closes around him, and he stumbles back a few steps. His knees start to give and he holds himself up against the adjacent wall, staring at his reflection for a beat. Then his eyes dart around him, seeing the Wizard and the Protector flanking him. He doesn't want to be here, his chest tightening in claustrophobic anxiety.

He jerks around to face the Protector, shoving his back against the Wizard wall as hard as he can to put as much distance between them as possible in this little box. It's not much, and he can only look so defiant as he watches the man, eyes dilated in fear, his skin split open in long gashes across his front. He's not in fighting shape, but the air between them begins to shimmer softly as he puts his shield up around himself. He doesn't know what good it'll do him, but he's also not going to stand here and wait for the Protector to attack.

He has nothing to say to either of them, but especially the Wizard. Well, he has lots to say to her, but none of it while he feels like he's about to die unfortunately.
