It's an incredibly bad idea for Gyre to have looked in the Protector's direction, because the man's intense look directly at Gyre practically advertises that he wants the knight dead. He can see the fear in Gyre's eyes and he's entirely certain he knows what he's thinking. But he knows this trick house and he isn't going to embarrass himself with futile attacks that will get him nowhere.

So he stands, rapier out and ready, glaring daggers down into the cowering knight.

"Give me that." He says, coldly.

Behind Gyre, he'll hear the faint sound of movement as the Wizard kneels behind the wall he's backed up against. There's a distinctly electrical hum that makes it through as she moves, and her voice sounds even more tired than it ever had in the past.

"He can't get you here." She offers, pointedly ignoring the Protector's words as she speaks softly to Gyre through the wall.
