"Oh." Luka says simply, still a bit dazed by everything going on. The garden must be even more meticulously maintained than Luka had thought if something like a path being disturbed by stomping feet was something that warranted repair.

There's an awkward silence as Luka thinks of how to broach the next topic, but he decides to cut straight to the point.

"The Wizard." He says. "The Protector told me he'd killed her, but she wasn't dead. Why did he lie about that?"
