"Yeah!" His response is loud and eager as he slips from between the two and takes a few teetering steps forward. He takes a moment to regain his balance, raises a hand, and-
"I'm totally fine on my own!" Suddenly he's holding an IV tripod turned quarterstaff. It's a stick with spokes at the bottom. He sounds a little defensive, but still mostly earnest. Maybe he doesn't want to be a burden on the mountain again?
"See? Perfect!" The pole does actually seem to be helping a lot, even as he leans into it a little. "So let's go." And then he... stands there for a few awkward moments before turning and leisurely progressing further in.
