"Gyre?" Luka holds out an arm, half feeling for where the other is and half expecting him to just take it. "This path isn't big enough for us both to walk together, right? If you go in front, I can just hold onto you and follow behind just fine."

This was a much simpler idea than strapping himself onto a crawling Garrot, and much cleaner than Luka crawling along the path himself.

"Can you see the end of the path from here?" He remembers that the Protector had planned to visit the mountain that day, and wonders if anything seems to be disturbed. "Is anything different?"
