Garrot doesn't wait long enough for Gyre to really have much of a break after wrapping up his talk. In fact, it's a moment of shocking restraint from him to wait all the way until the awkward little elf is done. Frankly, he figured that interrupting the poor guy would derail his explanation entirely.
"Wait." He raises a hand, a common enough gesture for Gyre to stop what he's doing: not paying attention to the doctor. "He can take our powers?!" His fists are clenched far too tight, and his wide eyes show that he's really concerned about that. "How?! What does he have to do? How far away does he have to be? Can he take our powers and use them, or just take them away? Can we get them back?!"
Garrot knows full well that Gyre probably can't answer a single question that was just thrown at him. But he needs to try before he makes plans to grill another, less cooperative source of information.
