The Protector's words are very odd, considering who he is as a person and all the murders he's gotten up to. So at the idea of other animals knowing more, Garrot snaps his fingers to draw attention to him.

"My guy's helpful, I'll see if I can get to the Garden and ask him once we're done here." The words are direct and to-the-point, partially because knowing the Garden is a safe place is, uh, really comforting given his avoidance of the Protector. Garrot wants to go there right now, and he might be thinking about making it his home base for the next few days.
