Oh, this man. He can feel how hopeful he is, and while Gyre is deeply sympathetic to that hope, he's also trying to be as realistic as possible. Everything he's heard says the opposite of what Garrot wants.
"Garrot," he says clearly and firmly, trying to bring the man's head back down out of the clouds. "Sxicq told me that the world will crumble after they leave. They aren't going to... to blow the planet up!" Nothing so dramatic as an explosion, which is the thing that makes this that much harder.
"It's just going to die. Even if they do put some of their magic into it, what happens when that magic dries up? We're just going to put off the inevitable, I think."
