Nothing good had come from the Protector's weapons. They had all only killed innocents, after all. And then there was the whole situation of the sword in Luka's head.

"If I don't have his weapons I'm useless in all this. I don't want to be."

He's not sure how useful Garrot's training would make him. He'd always be at a disadvantage due to his blindness, with no magic weapon to always strike true. But it was better than being completely untrained, right?
