Garrot's grumpiest glare gazes off into the distance at the notion that the Protector's already-powerful magic could be even stronger based on proximity. But learning that this isn't her plan snaps him back to reality, especially with the follow-up that she's the one pulling the metaphorical trigger here. Not the monsters, not Sxicq, her.

"Since it can stop our magic, is whatever's in that pit the reason he has magic at all?" If it's like a generator for his magic, maybe they can break it somehow, and they can take the fight to him! But he doesn't stop there, he presses onward to try and get as much information as he can. She's dangling many carrots, this time.

"If it's not your plan, whose is it and how much are you willing to tell me?" Garrot hasn't exactly been friendly to her, but he's sure wishing he'd been nicer now.
