Gyre's predictions about where "Eight"'s attacks are going to be, based on what it did before being exactly what it was going to do now, are exactly correct. He ducks and weaves in through the blows and the shield knocks its wrists back. Unfortunately most of its limbs are still weapons, so it has nothing to drop, but that at least means it isn't killing Gyre with them.

And then he's stabbing it through the body.

The hit ruptures something inside of "Eight"'s body and, all at once, there's a gush of yellow out the front that gloops very rapidly towards Gyre. All of its arms twitch from the injury, and the scent of freshly baked bread fills the air.
