He can't help but chuckle sadly, thinking about his poor worried mother and all their previous phone calls over the past couple of days. He knew she'd never believe the Protector's claim, at least - in her eyes Luka could do no wrong.

There is a pause as he picks apart the implications of Gyre's next statement, and he lifts his head quizzically.
