"One of the monsters gave us the key," he answers automatically, only pausing when he realizes that might not make any sense at all to her really. He frowns slightly, glancing off to the side as he tries to explain.

"The monsters are... these crystals, I think. We're working together, and you let us see the ball to help answer questions." He purses his lips, murmuring, "I just have more questions now though."

And then he straightens all at once, smirking, "That means we're crew, right? Since we saw the ship."
