Day 1 - Morning

The day begins quietly, with no indications that anything strange could occur today. The Princess and the Knights have all arrived on the island. Maybe you arrived a few days ago or maybe you just got off your red-eye flight before the sun came up. Everyone's on Harsen Island and so is the Wizard.

Things start simpler for Luka Eutychia, Olivia Walkyr, and Rory Honeycomb. The instant they set foot on the island, Olivia and Rory will both get an image of Luka in their heads and realize that they are the good-allured knights and he's the Princess. Luka, meanwhile, will see both Olivia and Rory in his thoughts and realize they're the good allured knights.

Prompts:

• 6:00am: It's the early morning celebration van! In all three towns, someone's driving around a vehicle playing blaring music and shouting "Let's go Knights! Let's go Princess! Beat that Wizard!". Seems like someone wants the heroes to succeed, hopefully your characters weren't sleeping. If you confront them, maybe they'll have something to say?



• 8:00am: Far Haven: All Knights and the Princess are invited to a big breakfast banquet. Come one, come all! Maybe meet some of the locals? Maybe chat with your fellow heroes? All knights are given lanyards, but the princess gets a lanyard and a crown if he's here, and they're all seated at the big hero table.



• 9:30am: Bamborough: All Knights and the Princess are invited to an oceanside brunch! Wether they live in Bamborough or they live elsewhere and visited here, they're welcome to eat the brunch and participate in waterfront games. Thank the resort owner for this welcome! Or chat it up with your fellow heroes by the water. By now everyone should be full.



• 11:00am: Craydon: Craydon's welcome is much more modest, the locals have invited the Princess and his knights to the local Multipurpose Center. They've set out a spread of light appetizers, chips and dips, vegetables and spreads, fresh breads and cheeses, modest drinks. It's the least extravagant of the welcomes but the locals are still here to meet and greet everyone. With a smile and a handshake they wish everyone the best of luck. How are you and your fellow heroes holding up with all this attention? Did you skip all these events? Attend all of them?



• 11:30am: The Wizard (Year 40 She/Her/Hers) strides in to the Craydon Multipurpose Center with her hands in her pockets and casually looks around the room with a gentle smile on her face and huge bags under her eyes. Her eyes are black with cyan sparkles in them, looking very much like outer space itself as she scans the room and everyone in it. Good luck for anyone here, they get first dibs on seeing the Wizard. She'll be shuffling around the multipurpose center in her light blue pajamas and bunny slippers, occasionally adjusting her tiny glasses as she looks around. At least she's got her wizard hat on so no one could miss what she looks like this year. It's a shocking difference from the big muscled dude (Year 39 He/Him/His) she was last year or the slick suit-wearing smooth talker (Year 38 They/Them/Theirs) they were the year before but it's still absolutely the same wizard.

Several simultaneous wizard conversations can exist in the replies, she's going to stick around to talk to everyone. Feel free to OOCly decide what order they spoke in or leave it a mystery.

Oh. Ooooh dear. Well, time to, uh, pop her bubble then. Zafika can't believe they're the one who's doing this.

"Matilda, this... this is a death game. If we don't defeat and kill the monsters... we'll die. And if we die, the Wizard is going to destroy the planet. Many Knights have died during previous years. The last time I followed this insane thing, only the Princess survived. Everyone else died."

[scandeled]

"Wait-- what? No. It's like reality television. Everything's scrip--" She stops, suddenly, dead in her tracks.


SHE NEVER GOT A FUCKING SCRIPT.

Oh no. She realised. "This is, actually real. It's not fake. We're going to be fighting for our lives here." Zafika is already bracing for Matilda's reacton, but no they're regretting this already.

"Oh. My God." Don't mind her Zafika, she's freaking out, tugging her dumb goggles down over her eyes. and using her palms to press them close against her face, her breathing quickening as she tries not to bawl right here on the beach.

It's hard to not mind her when Zafika can hear her almost hyperventilate and burst into full on bawling. Yeah, they regret this so much. Their tail curls around their leg as they stand there uselessly, before they peek at Matilda and, risk taking a step closer so they can very, very carefully put their hand on her arm. "Okay, hey, it's... it'll, it'll be okay..." Oh they're so not equipped for comforting others. They wish they could just, turn invisible so they can escape.

As they think of that, their tail starts to, surprise surprise, turn invisible, bit by bit. Their tail seems to 'vibrate' like a mirage on a desert as more of it disappears, and soon enough their entire tail is gone, and their hands start to disappear too. Hello, Knight Powers, activate.

Matilda seems to relax slightly at the simple, awkward gesture of the hand on arm, but she's still panicking, still sniffling. "I'm gonna freakin' die, I have no idea what to do! I almost flunked out of finishing school, and they don't even have math---" She cuts herself off, glancing down at Zafika's hand that she can definitely feel but can't see-- yanking back suddenly. "OHMAHGAWD I'M KILLING YOU." Since that's clearly what's happening here.

Zafika was considering to try and comfort Matilda, but then she goes and yells again and they swear, they'll have a heart attack because of that one of these days. Then they register her words properly, and frown beneath their blindfold. "Killing me... what are you talking about? I'm perfectly fine." Besides, if she was actually trying to kill them, she would already be a stone statue.

[scandeled]

"You're literally fading into oblivion! Ohmygawd, what did I freakin do--" Because it's clearly her fault, as she grabs for Zafika's arms as if that might keep them from vanishing into nothingness.

[zafika]

Alright what the hell? Zafika lets out an exasperated sigh as they release their other arm from Matilda's grip, and remove their blindfold, this was getting ridiculous. Except, when they open their eyes, they see that their hands and half of their forearms are gone just like most of their tail. "What the f-"

What the hell was going on? They weren't gone, they could still feel them, as they squeezed their hands into fists and opened them again, and coiled their tail around their leg. Illusion? Someone playing a trick on their mind? No, Matilda could see it too, and-

Wait. "Oh.... I.... I think this is my Knight power...." Holy shit. How fitting was it that an assassin got the power to turn invisible?

Matilda allows them to wiggle that one arm out, but she's clinging onto the other one for dear life, now with both hands. Not tightly enough to hurt, but enough that she's definitely not intending to let go. "Holy shit." She breathes, sounding relieved and shook at the same time. "That's so wondrous."

Zafika wants to wriggle their other arm free too, but with how Matilda seems like she'll freak out even more if they do that, they just give up and accept their fate. Why did this tend to happen to them all the time today?

"I guess it can be pretty useful... if I just knew how to actually control this-" They frown as they keep closing and opening their fist, and try to return their arms and tail back to normal. They did want to go unnoticed, but not like this, this was an even bigger hassle now.

It takes a bit, but eventually their limbs just pop back into view, and they sigh in relief. Well, they know what they'll be doing now whenever they have free time.
