Day 1 - Morning
Morning: 06:00am - 12:00noon
[ IRL Timeframe: February 18th - February 25th, 2019 ]The day begins quietly, with no indications that anything strange could occur today. The Princess and the Knights have all arrived on the island. Maybe you arrived a few days ago or maybe you just got off your red-eye flight before the sun came up. Everyone's on Harsen Island and so is the Wizard.
Things start simpler for Luka Eutychia, Olivia Walkyr, and Rory Honeycomb. The instant they set foot on the island, Olivia and Rory will both get an image of Luka in their heads and realize that they are the good-allured knights and he's the Princess. Luka, meanwhile, will see both Olivia and Rory in his thoughts and realize they're the good allured knights.
The Weather
- Sunny.
- 72°F / 22°C
- Slightly breezy, makes the trees wave.
Prompts:
- 6:00am: It's the early morning celebration van! In all three towns, someone's driving around a vehicle playing blaring music and shouting "Let's go Knights! Let's go Princess! Beat that Wizard!". Seems like someone wants the heroes to succeed, hopefully your characters weren't sleeping. If you confront them, maybe they'll have something to say?
- 8:00am: Far Haven: All Knights and the Princess are invited to a big breakfast banquet. Come one, come all! Maybe meet some of the locals? Maybe chat with your fellow heroes? All knights are given lanyards, but the princess gets a lanyard and a crown if he's here, and they're all seated at the big hero table.
- 9:30am: Bamborough: All Knights and the Princess are invited to an oceanside brunch! Wether they live in Bamborough or they live elsewhere and visited here, they're welcome to eat the brunch and participate in waterfront games. Thank the resort owner for this welcome! Or chat it up with your fellow heroes by the water. By now everyone should be full.
- 11:00am: Craydon: Craydon's welcome is much more modest, the locals have invited the Princess and his knights to the local Multipurpose Center. They've set out a spread of light appetizers, chips and dips, vegetables and spreads, fresh breads and cheeses, modest drinks. It's the least extravagant of the welcomes but the locals are still here to meet and greet everyone. With a smile and a handshake they wish everyone the best of luck. How are you and your fellow heroes holding up with all this attention? Did you skip all these events? Attend all of them?
- 11:30am: The Wizard (Year 40 She/Her/Hers) strides in to the Craydon Multipurpose Center with her hands in her pockets and casually looks around the room with a gentle smile on her face and huge bags under her eyes. Her eyes are black with cyan sparkles in them, looking very much like outer space itself as she scans the room and everyone in it. Good luck for anyone here, they get first dibs on seeing the Wizard. She'll be shuffling around the multipurpose center in her light blue pajamas and bunny slippers, occasionally adjusting her tiny glasses as she looks around. At least she's got her wizard hat on so no one could miss what she looks like this year. It's a shocking difference from the big muscled dude (Year 39 He/Him/His) she was last year or the slick suit-wearing smooth talker (Year 38 They/Them/Theirs) they were the year before but it's still absolutely the same wizard.

But then she shrugs. "I'd love for us all to get back in one piece, but I haven't made it this far by not thinkin' 'bout every possible outcome and then makin' plans in case they happen. I got a plan for if I make it through this, and a plan for if I don't. Plannin' don't come as easy to me as fightin', but I've learned over the years you can't just punch every problem, even if I'd like to." She pauses for a moment.
"But hey, maybe we'll get lucky and punches are all we'll need to kill these damn monsters, yeah?"
no subject
"We're both good enough to know that this ain't the ring." He crosses his arms in front of him, staring at Haizea in his most authoritative posture yet. "There's strength in numbers, so we keep ourselves safe and do whatever we can to keep the others alive and kicking. The more of us that make it to the Wizard, the better." Then Garrot's gaze darts towards the sea for a moment before resting at the sand between them. He's worried, but he's trying to put on an act.
"I was born before the Wizard first appeared." He breathes out through his nose, his shoulders visibly relaxing. "If I'm ready to hold my own, nobody who was born into this shit has an excuse not to be capable. Being dead weight is disrespectful to the whole planet, y'know?" But then he shrugs, because he knows the younger crowds are prone to willful ignorance. They could end up on his metaphorical operating table and already be too far gone, that's just how it goes.
"So..." Garrot's uncrossed his arms, but the toothy grin hasn't really stopped. "Wanna try and get everyone together tomorrow to see how terrible they all are in a fight?"

She smiles up at him and puts a hand on her hip. “I’m down, let’s take ‘em all to Garrot and Haizea’s school of hard knocks. We’ll do our best to keep everyone alive and make this year one for the history books!”
no subject
"Shit, we need to figure out where we're doing this." He sighs deeply, slowly wringing his hands before his eyes lock onto Haizea's and he starts smirking. Lightbulb moment! "Let's steal an upscale gym. Weights, mats, rock walls, the works. Who's gonna say no?" The smirk sharpens, and he looks just a little menacing from those teeth of his. Nothing wrong with leveraging their status as Knights, after all.
"What do you think? Our school of hard knocks means you get an opinion too!" And then he gestures with one hand, as if he were holding the door open in a fancy restaurant. Time to see how well she can plan around the unexpected.
no subject
"Hell, I bet we wouldn't even have to steal it, we're knights, right? They give us all sorts of shit! We can just sorta say we wanna use it and I bet whoever owns it will clear out, if they haven't left the island already. I think a gym sounds real good, we can get folks in the ring and see what everyone can do.
"Though," she puts a finger on the side of her chin in thought, "if anyone's powers are real flashy, we might need to go outside if they wanna practice that. Wouldn't wanna totally wreck the gym we're gonna borrow, right?"
no subject
"Don't worry about collateral damage, we can just do some product placements and donations will come flooding in!" His hands are thrown into the air, and Garrot looses a maniacal laugh. No worries, only intense physical training!
"And if that's not enough I can help cover the difference." The remark is offhand and casual, and it should be obvious how aware he is of the prices of gym equipment. "Or we just charge whoever wrecks the place, but that could be a bit mean, maybe?" He sounds wholly unconcerned by any of this.
no subject
“Maybe do an ad for insurance? Or a contruction company!” She’s still laughing, but internally thinking that getting even MORE publicity is probably not the best idea for her.
She definitely notices how casually he offers to pay, she knows doctors are paid well but are they paid THAT well? She’s regretting not paying closer attention to the other knight interviews. “Probably best to just not worry ‘bout it for now, sounds like we can sort it out one way or another.”
no subject
After a few more moments of awkward hyperventilating (he hasn't laughed that much since he got here!) he sighs, and tries to regain his composure. "Yeah it'll be fine." A deep breath. Another sigh. "So... what do we wanna teach em?"
This is the hard part.
no subject
"Hmm, well, it's not like we have enough time to do any strength or endurance training, we're gonna have to work with what we got. I think we should concentrate on technique, things like how to throw a punch without breaking your fingers or wrist, and since we all get weapons we should make sure everyone can use 'em. Especially since easy shit like guns aren't gonna fly, people gotta really know how to use what they got."
no subject
"Knives, staves, swords, shields." He counts them off on his fingers like it's nothing. "They're probably the big ones. Especially shields, in case they gotta take a hit." But then he just hums for a moment, before his eyes light up! "What about the powers? How do we wanna handle those?" What if they don't know what their powers are?! They need to get everyone on the same page real fast for that...
no subject
"I guess all we can really do is make people use them outside and hope for the best?"
no subject
"We just get people who know their powers to work with us on it, and we..." He bites his lip, looking more worried. "I don't want to say we should isolate the ones with unknown powers, but we don't want them practicing punches or anything with another person." He frowns.
"Punching bags and training dummies until we know what we're working with." He looks sad about it, because Garrot knows he'd feel bummed if he couldn't go all-in on training. And, uh, he doesn't know what his power is yet, either. So. Can he even get hands-on with their students, or could he hurt them?
no subject
“I, uh. I actually spent all morning trying to get my powers to work without any luck, so frankly I’d appreciate any help anyone can offer if I don’t got them on lock by tomorrow.” She seems maybe a little embarrassed about this?
no subject
"Besides, nothin' sayin' we can't learn at our own school!" And then he just starts with this boisterous laugh. It keeps going for a few seconds. Is... is that a joke? Does he think learning is funny? "Unless we figure it out before tomorrow?"
