Day 1: Evening

The first day has come to a close, the only things left to do are get some food and get some rest. Fortunately the residents of Bamborough are hosting a party to congratulate the heroes on their first victory, unfortunately it's running for several hours this evening. There's only so much time for sleep. What kind of balance will your hero try to strike?

Unfortunately for everyone, the evil-allured knights will be treated to a rude wake-up surprise when they finally go to sleep. No matter when they finally set their head down to rest, they all wake up at the same time, in the same place. Only the evil-allured knights will have access to this post, click to see if you've been chosen.

The good-allured knights, meanwhile, are free of a visit tonight with the Princess and the Protector. The two of them, however, are due to have a chat. Questions have to be answered, after all! He's dressed in his usual attire:

He's the same height as Luka with dark skin and vivid blue eyes that match the color of the sky. He has wicked winged white eyeliner to accent his eyes and curly black hair with white tips piled on top of his head, it's a wonder how it stays up there. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, he's wearing a pajama robe that looks either blue or silver depending how it's touched or how it moves. Most importantly is that he's got brass knuckles on both his hands, like he's ready to fight. But he's not here to fight, he's here to give a whisper about what comes next.

• Bamborough Party: To celebrate the defeat of the first monster, a full banquet is being held near the beach in Bamborough. Unlimited food, unlimited drinks, and most importantly of all was a small stockpile of blankets, sheets, pillows, and toiletries to offer any knight who might've forgotten something on the way out here. Naturally, every item is sponsored.


• You're all over Social Media!: Videos were successfully taken of all twelve knights and the princess during the first battle, and now the world is abuzz about what happened! What are they saying about your hero? How did they even get this footage? Or worst of all, how bad are they dissing your camera skills for those that recorded themselves?


• A late night walk: The first day is over, the first monster is dead. How's your character holding up? Do they seek out support from a fellow hero? Do they spend it alone? What kind of night are they having now that it's all real?


• A late night meal: Anyone leaving the Bamborough party late enough will be able to spot that a local late night ramen shop is open for business. If your hero hasn't quite eaten enough, they can drop by for a bite. But be warned, a certain sleepy villain is getting a bite to eat herself. Care to share a ramen bar meal with the enemy?

She sighs a bit. This never gets easy, but she's gotten practiced at wording apologies over the years. It's important to her to set a good example for her kids.

"I shouldn't have shot down your idea about the app so bluntly, you were trying to help, just like the rest of us. I was so caught up in getting a plan figured out fast that I didn't think about how rude I was being. So," she pauses here, and spells out S-O-R-R-Y with her fingers in sign language, "I'm sorry. I hope to do better when we work together next time."

Seth tenses at first when Haizea brings up the situation of the app. But then Haizea apologizes for being so blunt and he relaxes. Only to be then surprised in a rather pleasant way as she actually uses a bit of sing language too. Seth takes a moment to think on how to word his response, further conflict was the last thing he wanted right now so he took a bit of time to word it in his head first.

"I...forgive you. Yeah it hurt at the time but...you came to apologize for it. We were all kind of caught up in the heat of the moment. And well...the meme was just another meme for me but...I guess it wasn't the best idea. But... you know a bit of sign language?"

She sighs a little in relief when he forgives her. The last thing she needs is any extended drama with her fellow knights.

"Ah, yeah, I only really know the alphabet, that was simple enough for me to learn pretty easy," and one of the more practical applications of her inherent ability. "I never got the hang of learning to sign full on phrases and sentences though, it got a little too complex. But being able to spell stuff is better than nothing, right?" She grins sheepishly.

Seth was honestly just happy that knew at least some sign language, even if it was just the alphabet.

"Honestly I was surprised you knew anything at all, most don't really seem to bother learning any sign language, beyond the point of being able to recognize sign language when they see it. Personally I've learned it all the way but, well, for me it was kind of necessary being mute. SO knowing the alphabet is already a lot in my book."
Seth gave a small shrug.

"Haha, yeah, makes sense that you'd know it! Though you seem to get by pretty well with that talking phone app of yours, that makes it a lot easier to talk to people, huh?" She pauses.

"Honestly I probably wouldn't have ever learned to fingerspell if I hadn't met someone who was deaf, a long time ago before phones could do what yours does."

Seth sighed a little.

"Yeah, I've had to mostly rely on text to speech to comminicate since I was a kid...though I really wish knowing at least the alphabet was more common. Makes sense you learned due to meeting someone who kind of needs you to for communication. I'm not angry about you probably not having learned if you hadn't met them though....I guess I'm just generally dissapointed I have to rely on the app so much rather than being able to communicate in the language I do know."

"Mm, that's fair," Haizea says, nodding. "I guess it's like being bilingual, but hardly anyone speaks the language that comes to you easier. Must be frustratin'," she puts a hand on her hip here.

"Well, spellin' ain't much, but if you ever feel like fingerspellin' at me, I can respond to that. Probably won't be good for conversations, but might be faster than typing if you just gotta say somethin' quick, like 'LOOK!' or 'STOP!'"

Seth smiles a little. That was actually a pretty good comparison. And he definitely appreciated the offer.

"I might take you up on that for short things...I really do prefer using my hands to communicate rather than my phone. Though if I already have my phone in hand and it's something urgent I'll probably use the text to speech since...I'm actually a pretty quick typer."

"Hey, whatever's most comfortable! You're definitely a faster typer than I am, at least, I'm always told what a slow texter I am," she says, grinning sheepishly. Her kids made fun of her for her texts all the time.

Seth couldn't help but chuckle.

"I'm just good with my hands I guess?"

"Makes sense, sign language can be so exact, being good with fine details with your hands is almost required," she says, spelling the alphabet with one hand for emphasis.

Seth nodded at that.
"Honestly, that's very true. Sign language can be pretty exact at time where just a slight shift can change the meaning entirely."
