Day 1: Evening
Evening: 5:00pm - Midnight
[ IRL Timeframe: March 11th - March 18th, 2019 ]The first day has come to a close, the only things left to do are get some food and get some rest. Fortunately the residents of Bamborough are hosting a party to congratulate the heroes on their first victory, unfortunately it's running for several hours this evening. There's only so much time for sleep. What kind of balance will your hero try to strike?
Unfortunately for everyone, the evil-allured knights will be treated to a rude wake-up surprise when they finally go to sleep. No matter when they finally set their head down to rest, they all wake up at the same time, in the same place. Only the evil-allured knights will have access to this post, click to see if you've been chosen.
The good-allured knights, meanwhile, are free of a visit tonight with the Princess and the Protector. The two of them, however, are due to have a chat. Questions have to be answered, after all! He's dressed in his usual attire:
He's the same height as Luka with dark skin and vivid blue eyes that match the color of the sky. He has wicked winged white eyeliner to accent his eyes and curly black hair with white tips piled on top of his head, it's a wonder how it stays up there. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, he's wearing a pajama robe that looks either blue or silver depending how it's touched or how it moves. Most importantly is that he's got brass knuckles on both his hands, like he's ready to fight. But he's not here to fight, he's here to give a whisper about what comes next.
The Weather
- Starry Night.
- 64Β°F / 18Β°C
- Quite breezy, all the trees are rustling.
Prompts:
- Bamborough Party: To celebrate the defeat of the first monster, a full banquet is being held near the beach in Bamborough. Unlimited food, unlimited drinks, and most importantly of all was a small stockpile of blankets, sheets, pillows, and toiletries to offer any knight who might've forgotten something on the way out here. Naturally, every item is sponsored.
- You're all over Social Media!: Videos were successfully taken of all twelve knights and the princess during the first battle, and now the world is abuzz about what happened! What are they saying about your hero? How did they even get this footage? Or worst of all, how bad are they dissing your camera skills for those that recorded themselves?
- A late night walk: The first day is over, the first monster is dead. How's your character holding up? Do they seek out support from a fellow hero? Do they spend it alone? What kind of night are they having now that it's all real?
- A late night meal: Anyone leaving the Bamborough party late enough will be able to spot that a local late night ramen shop is open for business. If your hero hasn't quite eaten enough, they can drop by for a bite. But be warned, a certain sleepy villain is getting a bite to eat herself. Care to share a ramen bar meal with the enemy?

And then it starts raining. A clear night to rain in seconds. Is the wizard messing around with them? He holds a hand out to catch some of the water on his hand, confusion clear on his face even as he calls out to Haizea, "It's dry under the trees." Please come over here. No need for a knight to get sick because she got stuck in the rain, right?
no subject
When she heads over to Gyre, she looks almost sheepish. "Sorry 'bout that, I thought no one else was around here."
no subject
He almost doesn't hear her at first, his eyes up on the clouds. Then down at the raindrops collected on his clothes. Then back up to the clouds. What the fuck.
"Oh, uh, I'll leave you alone if you prefer." He pulls his eyes down to her finally, still absolutely confused. "Does the wizard usually mess with the weather?"
no subject
She sighs and looks up at the clouds as well. "I came out here to figure out if rain is all I can do or not, 'cause just being able to cause a nice little shower ain't gonna be that helpful for the next monster, probably." She seems a bit frustrated at this.
no subject
"There are probably uses," he murmurs, pondering for a moment. "How do you summon it? Maybe you can make more rain if you do... that, more?"
no subject
She continues to look at the clouds before speaking again. "This morning I tried to figure out my power by trainin' my body, but I guess it was really all in the mind." And with that, she pauses again and thinks, and very soon a light rain begins to fall, just a drizzle, almost a mist.
no subject
"Can you move it at all? Maybe with your mind, or... the wind?"
no subject
βOk, I canβt just make it fall differently, but maybe if I imagine wind...?β She trails off and thinks about wind. Almost immediately a small cyclone of wind springs up with her at the epicenter, strong enough to blow away any loose debris and maybe Gyre if heβs not careful.
no subject
He stumbles away, the force of the wind and the sudden leaf attack, pushing him back. At least he doesn't fall, but he is coughing into his elbow, his eyes watering against the dust.
"W-wow--!"
no subject
"Shit, sorry again, you okay? I was worried this might happen," she runs a hand through her hair and sighs.
no subject
"You got it to go around yourself!"
no subject
no subject
"That so cool! Here, you can try to trip me with that? If you want." For practice! He probably sounds too excited to be tripped, honestly, but magic is cool as hell and the utility of this particular magic seems like it could be incredible.
no subject
"I can try! Let's see maybe if I try... this?" she finishes, and then mimes as if she was throwing a yo-yo at his feet. The wind the flows outwards is narrow but forceful, and sweeps across his feet with enough power to knock him off them if he's not careful.
no subject
Which is to say, yes, his feet are jolted out from under him, one dragged back, the other pulled fully off the ground and he falls forward. He's quick enough to catch himself before his face hits the ground, but he definitely ends up on hands and knees here for a second.
Only a second though as he leaps back up to his feet, and moves to grab her shoulders. He'll shake her excitedly if she lets him.
"That was great!"
no subject
"Dunno that anyone's ever been happy that I tripped 'em before!" she says, grinning. "Thanks for helpin' me sort this out, I really think I'm gettin' the hang of this power now."
no subject
He releases her after another second though, practically beaming. "I'm happy to help! Your power seems so versatile."
no subject
"I guess it is, huh? I think I'm gonna need to work on it for a while though and see what all I can do," she says, and 'hmmms' a bit. "Do you know what your power is yet? Maybe I can return the favor."
no subject
He holds a hand out and forms a little, glistening bubble in the palm of his hand, staring down at it for a second. It doesn't pop right away, and that makes him smile very slightly after a second.
"It's a shield. I can't make it very big yet though."
no subject
She pauses, thinking. "I wonder why we each get the powers that we do? Is it random, or are they picked out for us...?"
no subject
"I don't know. I guess I assumed it's random," he says thoughtfully, glancing up from his hands for just a moment. "It's useful, but, uh, a shield doesn't really work with my particular skill set."
no subject
no subject
"I wish I'd paid attention to any of this stuff before I came here." He shrugs very slightly, turning his eyes back to her. "It'll be interesting to see how your magic develops. It seems very strong."
no subject
βI guess weβll just have to see, then. Even if itβs strong, itβll depend on if I can figure out how best to use it,β she says this almost casually, but sheβs already thinking about different applications. βYour power too, I think that could be something really great.β
no subject
He tilts his head as she starts thinking, watching her face. He's very curious what she'll come up with. To manipulate the wind and the rain like that would be terrifying to him if she didn't seem like she had her head on her shoulders.
"It will be. As soon as I learn how to use it, anyway. Seems like we both have a lot of practice ahead of us."
