Day 1: Evening

The first day has come to a close, the only things left to do are get some food and get some rest. Fortunately the residents of Bamborough are hosting a party to congratulate the heroes on their first victory, unfortunately it's running for several hours this evening. There's only so much time for sleep. What kind of balance will your hero try to strike?

Unfortunately for everyone, the evil-allured knights will be treated to a rude wake-up surprise when they finally go to sleep. No matter when they finally set their head down to rest, they all wake up at the same time, in the same place. Only the evil-allured knights will have access to this post, click to see if you've been chosen.

The good-allured knights, meanwhile, are free of a visit tonight with the Princess and the Protector. The two of them, however, are due to have a chat. Questions have to be answered, after all! He's dressed in his usual attire:

He's the same height as Luka with dark skin and vivid blue eyes that match the color of the sky. He has wicked winged white eyeliner to accent his eyes and curly black hair with white tips piled on top of his head, it's a wonder how it stays up there. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, he's wearing a pajama robe that looks either blue or silver depending how it's touched or how it moves. Most importantly is that he's got brass knuckles on both his hands, like he's ready to fight. But he's not here to fight, he's here to give a whisper about what comes next.

• Bamborough Party: To celebrate the defeat of the first monster, a full banquet is being held near the beach in Bamborough. Unlimited food, unlimited drinks, and most importantly of all was a small stockpile of blankets, sheets, pillows, and toiletries to offer any knight who might've forgotten something on the way out here. Naturally, every item is sponsored.


• You're all over Social Media!: Videos were successfully taken of all twelve knights and the princess during the first battle, and now the world is abuzz about what happened! What are they saying about your hero? How did they even get this footage? Or worst of all, how bad are they dissing your camera skills for those that recorded themselves?


• A late night walk: The first day is over, the first monster is dead. How's your character holding up? Do they seek out support from a fellow hero? Do they spend it alone? What kind of night are they having now that it's all real?


• A late night meal: Anyone leaving the Bamborough party late enough will be able to spot that a local late night ramen shop is open for business. If your hero hasn't quite eaten enough, they can drop by for a bite. But be warned, a certain sleepy villain is getting a bite to eat herself. Care to share a ramen bar meal with the enemy?

"Hmm..." Haizea thinks for a minute. "I knew another basilisk a long time ago, but he wore a pair of glasses that let him see without paralyzing anyone. It was expensive, but maybe you could ask your sponsor for a pair? Or," she brings her fist down into her open palm, just realizing something, "could you ask the snake for something like that?"

Zafika make a face at the suggestion, their tail wrapping around their leg. "I, guess... I just don't like the idea of asking things from people." Never mind that some of the sponsors have been very much against them being a Knight in the first place. "But... I don't know, Muraj told me he can't make anything too complicated. Wouldn't hurt to ask though."

"Maybe something like a visor would be less complicated then..." she muses, rubbing her chin a bit in thought. "Either way, it's worth a shot. You'd have an easier time helping folks and it would be nice to look you in the eyes, too."

[zafika]

"It could be... I'll see what Muraj can do about it." It'd be nice to be able to help people properly. Though, as Haizea mentions how it'd be nice to get to look them in the eye, Zafika tenses, their tail wrapping more tightly around them as their hand moves over to their wrist, the bandages now covered by a shirt that hides them better.

"You know... you have no idea how often I've actually wished to have normal eyes..." They still remember the first time they paralyse someone, the panic they felt when it happened. They push aside the uncomfortable memory though, and give a wry chuckle. "But, can't exactly do anything about that, can I? It's part of being a basilisk."

Haizea nods. "We all are what we are," she says simply. "You have power and challenges I'll never experience, but that's just the way it is. If Muraj can give you something, that's neat, but if not then you'll still be a big help. Your eyes are part of what made you the person you are today, and I'm glad you're here."

[zafika]

Zafika takes a moment to think about Haizea's words, before they smile at her, a little bit at least. "Well, I'm glad you think that way. Just means I need to make sure I'll actually be of help, right?"

They hope they can get something to prevent them from paralysing people on accident, but they'll think about that later. For now, they don't want to ruin the fun of celebration. "Either way, I really hope we can take down all the monsters this easily. Maybe we'll be able to make a miracle year."

"That's the goal! Garrot and I are hopin' to make that happen with the fight trainin' tomorrow, hopefully we can help everyone stay alive through all this bullshit," she says, maybe a bit flippantly.

"I wonder what the reaction of the world will be if we do manage to pull it off...?" She certainly doesn't want anyone to die, but she also doesn't want any more notoriety than she's got already.

"We'll do our best to pull it off, and if we keep the training consistent, who knows, maybe we'll actually succeed." They want to have hope, at least a little bit, that they wouldn't lose lives this year. They don't want to imagine having to witness any of the Knights die this year.

"Hmmm... I don't know... I guess we'll just have to wait and see?" Without knowing it, Zafika does agree with Haizea about the part of not wanting any more notoriety for themselves.
