Day 1: Evening

The first day has come to a close, the only things left to do are get some food and get some rest. Fortunately the residents of Bamborough are hosting a party to congratulate the heroes on their first victory, unfortunately it's running for several hours this evening. There's only so much time for sleep. What kind of balance will your hero try to strike?

Unfortunately for everyone, the evil-allured knights will be treated to a rude wake-up surprise when they finally go to sleep. No matter when they finally set their head down to rest, they all wake up at the same time, in the same place. Only the evil-allured knights will have access to this post, click to see if you've been chosen.

The good-allured knights, meanwhile, are free of a visit tonight with the Princess and the Protector. The two of them, however, are due to have a chat. Questions have to be answered, after all! He's dressed in his usual attire:

He's the same height as Luka with dark skin and vivid blue eyes that match the color of the sky. He has wicked winged white eyeliner to accent his eyes and curly black hair with white tips piled on top of his head, it's a wonder how it stays up there. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, he's wearing a pajama robe that looks either blue or silver depending how it's touched or how it moves. Most importantly is that he's got brass knuckles on both his hands, like he's ready to fight. But he's not here to fight, he's here to give a whisper about what comes next.

First Night Event: Bamborough: Everyone invited.

Bamborough Party: To celebrate the defeat of the first monster, a full banquet is being held near the beach in Bamborough. Unlimited food, unlimited drinks, and most importantly of all was a small stockpile of blankets, sheets, pillows, and toiletries to offer any knight who might've forgotten something on the way out here. Naturally, every item is sponsored.

You're all over Social Media!: Videos were successfully taken of all twelve knights and the princess during the first battle, and now the world is abuzz about what happened! What are they saying about your hero? How did they even get this footage? Or worst of all, how bad are they dissing your camera skills for those that recorded themselves?

A late night walk: The first day is over, the first monster is dead. How's your character holding up? Do they seek out support from a fellow hero? Do they spend it alone? What kind of night are they having now that it's all real?

A late night meal: Anyone leaving the Bamborough party late enough will be able to spot that a local late night ramen shop is open for business. If your hero hasn't quite eaten enough, they can drop by for a bite. But be warned, a certain sleepy villain is getting a bite to eat herself. Care to share a ramen bar meal with the enemy?

Gyre is just rapidly making himself someone Seth absolutely wants to be his friend. Like, by the gods, Seth hasn't been this happy the whole day except for maybe that moment Zafika said they were already friends.

Seth might just collapse from how happy he is. It's just getting so hard to contain. He wants to jump and down from excitement.
Which probably explains why, when Gyre offers to help him, Seth is just so overjoyed he momentarily completely forgets about his inhibitions of letting people into his personal space, and kind of about personal space in general, and just...

Hugs Gyre. Squeezing him with what little strenght he has.
And then he realizes what he actually did and just turns red and kind of freezes in place.

"Oh--"

Oh my god? He thought this kind of thing was weird for these people? Did things change this much since the last time he was here? No one else has hugged him out of nowhere though. The closest he's been to anyone since he got here was Zafika, who he was definitely flirting with. Sufficed to say, he's a little stunned for a long few beats.

He does eventually take a deep breath, and settle his arms loosely around Seth. It's halfway between a returned hug, and an almost comfortable lean, and he knows it'll be easy to pull out of if Seth decides this is a mistake.

"A... are you okay?"

Seth...is struggling with deciding what to do here. On one hand his mind is screaming for him to pull away because oh my god what is he doing he'd probably making Gyre uncomfortable-

Except gyre isn't pushing him away, rather having his arms loosely around him, not in an awkwardly returned hug kind of way, but in the way that would let him easily pull away if he wanted to.

Except, on the other hand he really didn't want to pull away from the hug. After years of isolating him and basically forgetting what physical touch with another person felt like, the hug was making him realize just how badly he'd missed that.

In the end, he nods a bit against Gyre in response to his question, actually squeezing him a little harder again. He was alright, and honestly really didn't want to pull away from the hug yet.

Okay. That's fine. He nods above Seth, to no one in particular, trying to figure out what to do now.

And then Seth squeezes him tighter and his entire heart melts. His entire body melts down into this hug, his arms tightening almost possessively around Seth. If he wants to be held close, Gyre will hold him as close as he can, and he's not going to let go first if it freakin kills him. He has missed this kind of touch so much. He'll stay here for as long as Seth wants basically.

Absolutely melts when Gyre tightens his arms. Oh god he had missed a good hug so much. He was deinitely not going to be trying to pull away any time soon. No way no how.

He holds to Gyre with pretty much all the strenght he has because while his mind had initially been screaming for him to pull away, the strenght in Gyre's hug is now actually basically making his mind come to a firm decision that no, let's not pull away, this actually feel safe and comforting and really nice.

Gyre was a great person, and that was honestly final in Seth's mind, and he was going to make sure he'd become friends with him because he felt safe, he was kind and helpful and Seth wanted to help Gyre in return, as much as he could. He'd even be willing to push a little beyond his own current boundaries.

Jeez. He didn't think anyone was as touch starved as him, but this kid is really holding onto him like he hasn't gotten a hug in his entire life. He's fine with it. Folks might be looking at them, but he has never cared about that kind of thing, nuzzling his face down against Seth's hat.

"This is nice~"

In Seth's defense, he literally couldn't remember when he had last gotten a hug. And he wasn't even halfway to being thirty.
Seth's a little more self-conscious about people possible looking at them but, right now, he can't really care. The hug's too good.

He nods pretty firmly against Gyre, since, right now nodding and shaking his head are kind of his only ways to communicate, but he definitely agreed. This was really, really nice.

And honestly the nuzzle against his hat just kills him in a good way and he even dares to nuzzle Gyre back a little.

Hmm. That nuzzle is a whole lot, isn't it. He didn't expect it to affect him quite like this, but he can feel his stomach flutter a little as Seth rubs his face into his chest. It's almost impulse at that point, the way he leans back just slightly, just enough to bend down and plant a kiss between Seth's eyes.

He only realizes after he does it that Seth isn't a wild elf, and that could be read in a million different ways that he doesn't intend. He doesn't want to pull out of the hug really, but he does anyway out of a protective instinct.

"U-uh-- sorry," he murmurs quickly, clearly flustered and forgetting his signs.

Seth admittedly blushed quite a bit, when Gyre plants the kiss, though mostly from getting flustered, and being surprised by it. He really hadn't expected that...
Though he couldn't say he exactly minded it...
It really had been ages since he'd gotten to enjoy physical touch that hadn't led to harm. Mostly because he had shut himself away from the world but that was due to him becoming scared of the world outside his home.

So Seth...already kind of missed the physical contact.
He could hear Gyre just fine, stumbling to sign back. He had absolutely no idea if there was any kind of real meaning to the kiss.

"O-oh no, it's...it's okay. I was pretty surprised but...I didn't exactly mind that and...I really enjoyed the hug..." Seth admitted though blushed a little bit more at actually admitting that.

Right. Dammit. He should be signing. He straightens his clothes out quickly, awkwardly, trying to straighten his thoughts out in the same gesture.

"A good hug is always nice. Sometimes you need it." It seemed like this kid really needed it too, and he offers this careful but incredibly gentle smile. He'll just have to keep his kisses to himself next time, he chastises himself. He doesn't need to ruin a nice thing with all the social awkwardness that came with being too affectionate around these people.

Seth returns the smile as he signs back.

"Yeah...I'm sorry for hugging you out of the blue like that though...though I certainly don't regret it. I...well I was just so happy you offered to help me carry it all back as...I really doubt I could bring it all back myself."

Yeah he had really enjoyed the hug and the closeness.

"You don't need to apologize," he signs, and he winks quickly. "Wild elves touch each other all the time like that. I'm used to it."

He's not, really, but he gets the feeling he's more used to it then this kid is at least.

"I'm happy to help, once you've picked out what you need."

Oh. Huh. Well that was...interesting. He was glad he hadn't really done anything wrong though.

A smile comes back to his face, nodding.
"Thank you...I could pick what I need now so you could help me now so I won't have to find you later on when I want to go home and possibly interrupt your time or anything like that."

"Yeah, while we're here, let's get it done." He grins, and starts pulling aside the things Seth has said he wants already.

"Anything else?"

"Let me check real quick." Seth signs hastily before taking a quick look around the piles, ending up picking out a couple of more big blankets and two pillows on the bigger side, bringing them to where Gyre had set aside the earlier picks.

"I think that should be everything I need." Seth is smiling, clearly very excited for this pillowfort plan.

"Looks good to me," he signs, grinning and beginning to pick up some of the blankets. He throws a couple over each shoulder, and then a pillow under each arm. He's trying to take as much as he can so Seth has at least one hand free to keep speaking. Gyre can switch to his voice just fine with his arms stuffed full.

"Ready when you are!"

Seth absolutely beams, able to carry what's left with one arm easily enough, nodding and starting to excitedly lead the way, occasionally checking Gyre was still behind him.

Gyre is definitely following close to him. He's only a step behind the entire way, keeping pace easily, except when he has to pause to shift the load around a little. Carrying all these blankets is decidedly unbalanced, but he knows he can make it.

"How far are you?"

Oh! Seth quickly takes out his phone, he found it easier to communicate via typing when he only had one hand, smiling.

"Oh, how far is it? It shouldn't be much farther. See that fountain in the distance? We'll take a right there and my place will be pretty much right in front of us at the following T-cross!"

"Perfect," he says softly, pausing once again. This time he sets a couple pillows down, reorganizing the things in his arms completely, before he plucks them all back up, and runs the few steps to catch back up.

Seth blinked a little at seeing Gyre put some of the pillows down, but he shook it off, he could dust them off if needed and they'd be going inside a pillow cover anyway. Smiling he led Gyre to the house he was staying at, where he unlocked the door to let both of them in.

Welcome to the house of puppet Gyre. Because they're everywhere.
And clearly been positioned to look like they're doing something.

Well that's terrifying. Gyre actually pauses at the door for a few beats, not because of the puppets, but because going into someone else's house is completely inappropriate. He has to take a second to reassure himself that these people go in each other's houses all the time. It's nothing for them. And this isn't even Seth's actual house probably.

He looks incredibly hesitant as he forces himself to step over the threshold, and into this. This scene. He blinks slowly around, taking in each puppet working away at their task, and a chill rushes up his spine. What the fuck.

"Uh... did it come like this?" It seems like a pretty sick joke for the homeowners to play on a knight.

Seth just...freezes. Oh..right.
He'd been so happy that Gyre had been so willing to help him...
He'd completely forgotten to think about how Gyre would likely react when he saw the house he was staying at...or well, the puppets specifically.

Seth is suddenly far more withdrawn, slowly putting the few blankets and the pillow he was carrying aside on the nearest empty surface, before turning to sign to Gyre.
"No...they're..." A silent sigh. "They're all mine...they're my friends and...they'd get bored if they were just sitting around all day."

Gyre moves into the house a few more cautious steps, and begins to pile all the pillows and blankets down where Seth put his. He's trying to keep the tension out of his shoulders, but he's definitely tense.

"They'd get bored...?" He casts a glance around the place again, feeling this unsure terror grip his chest that these might all have some kind of intelligence. Were they robots? Ghosts possessing imperfect forms? Fuck, Seth, this is a whole hell of a thing!

Seth nods nervously as he goes to a 'group' of smaller dolls and takes out Abigail from his bag, setting her near the dolls and moving her hands to sign to the other dolls, before leaving them to 'chatter' amongst themselves, and then going to move a couple of his bigger puppets near a window, positioning them so they're 'talking' amongst themselves, before finally managing to make himself turn back to Gyre and sign.

"Yeah...so I help them get around...like so...they're all very dear friends of mine after all...even though no-one but me seems to understand them..."
