Day 1: Evening
Evening: 5:00pm - Midnight
[ IRL Timeframe: March 11th - March 18th, 2019 ]The first day has come to a close, the only things left to do are get some food and get some rest. Fortunately the residents of Bamborough are hosting a party to congratulate the heroes on their first victory, unfortunately it's running for several hours this evening. There's only so much time for sleep. What kind of balance will your hero try to strike?
Unfortunately for everyone, the evil-allured knights will be treated to a rude wake-up surprise when they finally go to sleep. No matter when they finally set their head down to rest, they all wake up at the same time, in the same place. Only the evil-allured knights will have access to this post, click to see if you've been chosen.
The good-allured knights, meanwhile, are free of a visit tonight with the Princess and the Protector. The two of them, however, are due to have a chat. Questions have to be answered, after all! He's dressed in his usual attire:
He's the same height as Luka with dark skin and vivid blue eyes that match the color of the sky. He has wicked winged white eyeliner to accent his eyes and curly black hair with white tips piled on top of his head, it's a wonder how it stays up there. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, he's wearing a pajama robe that looks either blue or silver depending how it's touched or how it moves. Most importantly is that he's got brass knuckles on both his hands, like he's ready to fight. But he's not here to fight, he's here to give a whisper about what comes next.
The Weather
- Starry Night.
- 64°F / 18°C
- Quite breezy, all the trees are rustling.
Prompts:
- Bamborough Party: To celebrate the defeat of the first monster, a full banquet is being held near the beach in Bamborough. Unlimited food, unlimited drinks, and most importantly of all was a small stockpile of blankets, sheets, pillows, and toiletries to offer any knight who might've forgotten something on the way out here. Naturally, every item is sponsored.
- You're all over Social Media!: Videos were successfully taken of all twelve knights and the princess during the first battle, and now the world is abuzz about what happened! What are they saying about your hero? How did they even get this footage? Or worst of all, how bad are they dissing your camera skills for those that recorded themselves?
- A late night walk: The first day is over, the first monster is dead. How's your character holding up? Do they seek out support from a fellow hero? Do they spend it alone? What kind of night are they having now that it's all real?
- A late night meal: Anyone leaving the Bamborough party late enough will be able to spot that a local late night ramen shop is open for business. If your hero hasn't quite eaten enough, they can drop by for a bite. But be warned, a certain sleepy villain is getting a bite to eat herself. Care to share a ramen bar meal with the enemy?

They quickly get a feeling of what he was planning to say, and they step little closer, tail brushing affectionately at the bit of his leg that they had swatted a moment ago. "It's alright, I can handle those kind of jokes, I know you don't mean harm by it. But I appreciate the sentiment. It's sweet that you try to avoid saying something that might make me uncomfortable."
no subject
"Keeping people in cages is evil. It was never... real to me. When I was a child." He sighs deeply, glancing in their direction. There's this deep fondness in his eyes, though he looks quite sad thinking about anything to do with their life before this. "I shouldn't have joked about it then either."
no subject
Not that they get to think about what to say for much longer, not for comforting him at least, because then he glances in their direction, and their chest aches when they see the look in his eyes. They're quick to look away from him themselves, uncomfortable tightness settling to their chest. "You were a child... kids don't know any better then, I don't think you should be held accountable for such things at this point anymore. Besides, isn't it the point that as a kid you do stupid things so you'll learn from them?"
no subject
But no, they're just forgiving him again. He nods after a moment, still keeping his eyes averted. "I suppose so. It's not as if guilt will change anything, anyway." He hums softly, a sound that's almost a laugh again.
"Thank you for the perspective."
no subject
Which is true, but then again, they're also used to people saying whatever the hell they want to say to them, without really considering if it's nice or not. But with Gyre, they know he doesn't mean to offend, and that's enough for them.
no subject
"You deserve a little gentleness, you know?" he says, and there's a little bit of a purr in his voice. He's flirting, but he does mean it too, dropping their hands back down. "Just cause you can take it, doesn't mean I want to force you to."
no subject
"Gentleness, huh...? And should I take it that I'll be getting that gentleness from you tonight?" Flirt, they can respond to, easily enough. Genuine kindness like Gyre's? Absolutely not. So, they focus on the flirting aspect of his words, with that they know what to do.
no subject
He lets his voice drop into that rasp they'd responded to so nicely earlier, saying, "I'll start there. We'll see where it goes from there, pretty thing."
no subject
"Oh, sounds like someone's coming up with a plan for the rest of the night~"
no subject
Which is to say, they crest a slight incline, and suddenly there's a camp! It's taking up a little clearing in the trees and it's extremely nicely kept even at first glance. There's a fire pit dug into the ground, and lined with rows of gently polished rocks. Off to the side, there's a canvas tent that's just barely big enough for a Gyre-sized bedroll and his emptied backpack. It's been zipped shut except for a little space left at the top. There's a little pile of chopped wood beside the tent. Across from the fire, there's a rack set up with three cleaned rabbit? skins hung on a pole to dry.
Gyre immediately moves a little quicker, letting go of Zafika's hand as he heads into camp. He moves a couple of the smaller rocks, and pulls out a wooden box, taking the top off and taking out a pack of matches. The pack has the logo of an Amarosian bar called The Waystation on it, and he flips it open. He's going to get a fire started immediately here.
"Uh, do you want a tour or anything?" he asks, and he's mostly joking. There isn't anything else but this for him.
no subject
The moment they see Gyre's camp, they're filled with nostalgia and are absolutely entrhalled by the small, extremely cosy looking camp. Their tail does this delighted swish behind their back as they look around the camp, and honestly, they hadn't even realised that they'd missed this aspect of their life before prison. Getting to camp out in the woods beneath the starry sky, falling asleep while listening to the quiet, peaceful crackling of a fire keeping them warm.
Their eyes flick back to Gyre when he speaks again, and they give this quiet, happy chuckle as they walk over to the fire pit too. If he's getting a fire started, they know exactly where they want to be. "No, I don't think that's necessary." They sit down a little bit away from the stones lining the fire pit, watching Gyre as he moves about.
no subject
He watches it grow for a moment or two, making sure it's stable before he walks around the pit to their side. "Comfortable?" he asks softly, smiling gently into the fire. He'll sit as soon as he knows they don't need anything else basically.
no subject
As he asks them if they're comfortable, they look up at him with a soft smile, their tail snaking up to wrap loosely around his wrist. "Plenty. Just, uh... don't expect me to move anywhere from here. I've missed the warmth of an open fire. Never mind that I can't regulate my body temperatures."
no subject
"By the fire sounds like a nice place to spend a night~" he purrs, letting his voice drop into a rasp. He folds his knees and sits beside them in one clean, smooth motion. He's turned to face them, and he watches their face for a few beats.
"You're beautiful, you know?"
no subject
And then he compliments them again, and while they feel like their heart skipped a small beat, there's that tightness in their chest again. They really don't like how persistent that tightness is. They push it aside in favour of leaning closer to Gyre, letting a purring tone settle into their voice. "Someone's going for the sweet talk again... is this your form of foreplay~?"
no subject
"I can do both, you know." and he squeezes the back of their neck just gently. "You have the prettiest eyes I've ever seen~" he rasps, his voice a soft whisper that is absolutely just for them, and he takes their mouth in another sudden kiss.
no subject
As he rests his forehead against theirs, their eyes study his, and while the compliments and closeness bring an embarrassed blush on their cheeks, right now they wouldn't change this for anything. Especially not when Gyre kisses them again, and they feel like they could just melt. Which is exactly what they do, as they lean into the kiss and start to purr, their eyes closing and they fully let Gyre take the lead.
no subject
Later on, the fire has burned down low, and while Gyre knows he should get up to throw another stack of wood onto it, he's content where he is. He has a new lover tucked against his body and the unfamiliar constellations are beautiful out here in the woods, and he's idly letting his eyes shift between both. He's not asleep yet, but he can feel sleep creeping up on him, his hand running gently, hypnotically through Zafika's hair.
He blinks heavily, and turns this fond, adoring smile onto Zafika, watching them without saying anything for now. They've both been quiet for awhile now, but he's utterly uninterested in breaking the comfortable silence they've settled into just yet.
no subject
They look up to Gyre, only to see him already looking at them with an adoring smile, that still makes them flustered. They press a quick, soft kiss against his shoulder, before they prop themselves up on their forearms. "Do you want to sleep? You seem tired... and, it's been a long day for you."
They don't want to break the comfortable silence, nor do they want either of them to sleep just yet, they want to enjoy this for as long as possible. But, they also don't want to keep Gyre awake too long, especially if he wants to sleep.
no subject
"Your day was just as long," he says, bringing a hand to his mouth to stifle a yawn. He shakes his head quickly after that though, trying to ward off their concern before they can say it.
"I can stay up, uh... Do you want me to get the fire going again?" He's still laying flat on his back, but he'll roll over and get up for them if they want him to.
no subject
"That'd be nice, yes... the island is pretty warm but... falling asleep next to a warm fire is honestly something I've missed." Their longing is audible in their voice, even as they sit up and reach for at least some of their clothes, they should wear a bit of clothing. As they do that, they remember the gem Gyre had tucked in amongst his clothes, and they bite their lip for a moment as they hesitate to bring it up.
"Hey, Gyre... that, gem you have... what is it? It's... clearly not just a pretty jewellery." They point at their own pendant, once again resting over their heart, but this one has sentimental value. Gyre's gem seems more than that, there's this weird... air around it.
no subject
He slowly untangles the gold chain, and drops it over his head, moving towards the wood pile as he speaks. "It's uh... me? This body... it looks like me, but I'm actually here," and he touches the gem. "I have to stay close to it."
"Uh," he murmurs, trying to find a topic to talk about instead as he gathers up a few logs and brings them back over, tossing one into the fire pit. He actually looks at them for the first time in a bit, and finally sees that they're dressing again? He looks confused! "Are you going to head home?" he asks, and there's this tiny note of sadness in the very back of his throat. He expects his various lovers to leave once they're finished with him, but he had thought for a moment that they might stick around when they asked for the fire to be rekindled.
no subject
"Oh... so, I assume it, contains your soul or something like that...?" While they're not familiar with wild elf magic, they do know about general magic a bit, and they've heard mentions about souls being possible to affix to an object. And considering that Gyre is a gheist, this makes sense.
Luckily his confused expression and question about if they're heading home distracts them from the jewel, and the tiny note of sadness in his voice just further sets it in stone that they're definitely staying. If he'll let them. "Oh, I, no... if, you're fine with me staying, I... I'd like to stay for the night. I just thought I'd put on a little bit of clothing, easier to keep warm that way."
no subject
"Oh..." He didn't even think about them needing to stay warm. He was enjoying the sight of them, but he supposes he doesn't have the body warmth to keep them comfortable all by himself. "Yeah. Yeah, of course I want you to stay."
He settles down beside them, that fond smile returning to his face now that he's been reassured a little. It only takes a second before he's leaning contentedly against them, slipping an arm around them.
"What about yours?" he asks after a moment, reaching over to tap their pendant against their chest.
no subject
Instead, they're more than happy to lean against him a bit as well, once he has settled down next to them. The closeness and affection is very welcome, and they're glad they're allowed to stay with him.
Though, once Gyre asks them about their own pendant, the look in their eyes changes, and they move their hand over the pendant, holding it gently against their chest. "Oh, this... it... it was my birthmother's."
