Day 2: Morning
Morning: 6:00am - 12:00noon
[ IRL Timeframe: March 17th -It's a bright new morning and the first monster has been defeated, the first hurdle has been cleared and everything is going great. The heroes should be feeling good, everything should be going according to plan. Especially because when the heroes wake up this morning, they'll be treated to a set of kigurumi pajamas themed after their animal companion sitting right beside them. Each set has a little note on it that says "From me to you" with a stylized "Wizard" signature beside it.
The morning should prove fairly uneventful. In striking comparison to the first day, the island is much quieter than it was before. Instead, the day's celebration is centralized on the train that circles the island. One eight-car train is circling the entire island, taking a little over an hour and a half to make its circles. It's 30 minutes between each city and the train isn't stopping. Each car on the train is open and any hero can board it free of charge. There are party cars, food cars, and lounge cars to enjoy on the trip around the island. There are also some commemorative prints and products available near the caboose of the train, some sellers having already gotten hard at work to create products to sell. They're seeking to get a seal of approval from the heroes themselves on them!
For the Princess and the Protector as well as the Wizard and her evil-allured knights, their dream threads will go on until the Second Monster arrives.
Most importantly, a certain knight has a message for the rest of his allies at the bright and early hour of 6:30am.
The Weather
- Slightly Windy.
- 64°F / 18°C
- The trees are rustling, flower petals in the air.
Prompts:
- 6:30am Punch Club, Bamborough: A message reaches the group with... an attached video? Opening the file shows Garrot staring straight at his phone's camera with a big smile. "Rise and shine, team!"
- x:xxam Train Ride: The party train is available for any hero who finds it. It'll be rolling through Far Haven at 6am, 7:45am, 9:30am, and 11:15am. It'll be rolling through Bamborough at 6:35am, 8:20am, 10:05am, and 11:50am. It'll be rolling through Craydon at 7:10am, 8:55am, 10:40am, and... well, this post only goes until noon. The next stop in Craydon is out at 12:25pm which is in monster arrival territory. While on the train, your hero can get up to anything. Will they discuss with the others what they think of the first line of hero products? Does this action figure look funny? Do these stickers look okay? Discuss and deal with vendors or just party it up elsewhere on the train!
- 10:30am, Power Plant, Far Haven: Social Media is abuzz that the Wizard has made an appearance in the power plant in Far Haven. She could wipe power out to the whole island if she wanted to, she could turn the connections to chocolate, or she could just be standing around. She hasn't done anything as far as the cell phone videos show, but is that going to last?
- 11:30am, Relaxing Time, Craydon: The residents of craydon, with the assistance of some of their kids, sent out invitation videos to ask the Princess and knights if they wanted to drop by Craydon and join in a meditation session. They're going to meditate outside, in the woods, and relax as much as possible before the next monster arrives. The residents of Craydon are emphasizing how important it is to keep mentally healthy above all else. Which of your fellow heroes have joined in on this session?

"Alright, looks like gravity still applies to your wires! Or at least they do once they're attached to something. You can pull or push stuff that your wires are on, and you can throw it too, but you can't lift it higher than you yourself can reach." At this point, she puts another ball down on the ground.
"Since the ball didn't pop or get too damaged earlier, I think your base level of force with the wires isn't strong enough to cut through its rubber, so this time I want you to try to cut it. I think there's two ways it might work, 1) use your wires to try and slash through it, but don't attach to the ball or 2) attach to the ball and then squeeze it as hard as you can. I guess just try whichever method feels most natural first, and if it doesn't work then try the other?"
no subject
He decided to try slashing without attatching to the ball first.
First he used just his mind. The result ended with a few scratches on the ball but not much else, the ball spinning a bit from the force but that was about it, once again pointing to the direction that the laws of physics did affect his wires to an extent even when not attatched to anything.
Next he tried to use his hand with his ability to move the wires with his mind.
The result was a little better, the ball definitely spun more and got more scratched up, but not too much damage still.
So he decided to use the other method.
Controlling the wires to wrap around and attatch to the the basketball, he tried to squeeze it with the wires using this mind but...nothing really happened.
Frustrated he gave a tug and the ball just slid along the ground.
That gave Seth an idea however.
Placing a foot to keep the ball in place, Seth changed the attatchment a bit so that only the tips of the wires were attatched, though the rest was still wrapped around the ball.
And then he tugged pretty hard on the wires.
The result?
Slashes where the wires were against the ball, causign the air to escape and the ball to deflate.
However...
It also resulted in Seth making a noticable wince and instinctively letting the wires disappear as he carefully rubbed the fingers the wires had been attatched to. Okay that had hurt...
Conclusion: Seth could certainly cause damage with the wires, however the draw back was that Set absolutely still felt to strain from pulling...and in this case hed been pulling mostly with his fingers which clearly didn't seem like that good of an idea...fingers weren't meant for that.

"Oh shit!" Haizea exclaims when she notices he's hurt himself and hurries over. "Here, let me take a look at your hands," she says, and holds out her own.
no subject
Luckily nothing was broken, he'd stopped quick enough when he'd felt the pain. His fingers were still definitely hurting for the moment though.
"I'm okay, I don't think I actually broke anything, it just kind of hurts..."
no subject
"Have you asked the rat for a weapon yet? Maybe you could get some sort of gauntlets...?"
no subject
"No, I haven't asked Qus yet...it's worth a try though."
no subject
"Although, since we only get one weapon I guess you could only put them on one hand, but. That's better than nothing!" She says brightly, thinking of her own single brass knuckle. Damn, she wishes she had another.
no subject
"Basically some kind of reinforced gloves probably? Since I'd need to still use my fingers and something like a gauntlet would likely be pretty restrictive..."
no subject
"For now, though, I think there's one more thing we should test. Hang on a minute," and she jogs off towards the breakfast table, returning with a bunch of grapes.
"Your base level doesn't damage a basketball, and when you exert force you're strong enough to tear one in half, but let's see how you fare with something more delicate," she picks one grape off the bunch and places it on the ground. "Try to just move the grape without cutting into it's thin skin. If you can do that without damaging it, then you might be able to use your wires on the rest of us without hurting anyone."
no subject
...but what if he didn't have to wrap his wires around it?
The sudden though encourages him as he uses the hand that wasn't hurting, extending a single wire from his pointer finger towards the grape, and then attatching the end to the grape and then slightly lifting his finger...
And there was the grape, just gently hanging from the wire.
no subject
"Try picking all of these up so you have one grape on each finger. Then, see if it's easy to move all five independently or not. This can help us figure out how much dexterity you have with each wire!"
no subject
He repeated what he had done with the first grape, then shrinking the wires a little to lift the grapes up from the ground to an about equal level.
He started out slow, just testing one finger at a time how the grapes responded to how he moved his fingers, but pretty soon started trying to move them at the same time, and then independently of one another?
The result?
Probably way better than Haizea was expecting.
The grapes were moving perfectly independently acording to the motions of Seth's fingers, and a little help from controlling the wires a little with his mind.
Looks like Seth really had some pretty darn good fingerwork.
no subject
"Looks like you have pretty good control, then. There's only one more thing I think we can try," she trails off, and pulls back her sleeve to expose her forearm. "Try moving my arm just like you did with the grapes. I wanna see if I can resist the control or even pull off the wires. My skin a lot thicker than a grape's, so I think this will be fine," she says, nodding.
no subject
He turns a little nervous when Haizea presents one more thing to try, but...
He complies, albeit a little hesitantly, though making sure not to wrap the wires around her arm because that would definitely lead to injure.
After he's attatched the wires he takes a deep breath and tries to pull carefully on the wires to move Haizea's arm.
The end result however is very clear. He can only move Haizea's arm if she allows him to. Unlike with the ball and grapes, where laws of physics seemed to mostly apply but other wise he could move them with no resistance, whatever resistance Haizea puts up is very clearly there. And if Haizea ends up trying to pull of the wires, Seth ends up making them disconnect from his fingers the moment he really starts to feel the force, before he'll end up hurting himself.
no subject
"Alright, that was interesting! As long as your wires work on the monsters the same way as they do on me, then I don't think you can use your wires to control them like you can on non-living things. But, if you can wrap your wires around them, then you can damage them pretty well as long as you protect your hands."
She stretches and cracks her knuckles a bit. "I think that's probably the basics of your powers, but do your best to practice and experiment as time goes on, alright? I'm sure you'll discover even more, this power is very nuanced so I don't think it's possible to sort all of it out in one day. But I think you did good today!" She says and smiles as she signs G-O-O-D.
no subject
"Thank you for helping me with this...it really means a lot. I'll...probably give my fingers a bit of a break and...then maybe try to tackle the more physical aspect that comes to fighting. Maybe."
no subject
"Take care of that hand, it'll probably just be sore for a while but you don't wanna make it worse. I think it's really great that you wanna get better at fighting, but don't push yourself too hard, okay?"
no subject
"I'll be careful with it. And well...I'm nervous about getting better at fighting but...if I'm going to be useful...then I'll have to learn. I'll take breaks when I need them though."
