Day 6: Evening Monster
Evening: Evening - Midnight
[ IRL Timeframe: December 4th - December 18th, 2019 ]Three significant things happen when the heroes have finished their venture into the mountain.
First: Just outside the mountain cave entrance are four doors just... freely standing there. The heroes will be able to walk around them, walk past them, and generally inspect them. But they just look like normal doors. Three are marked "Bamborough", "Craydon", and "Far Haven" and sure enough if the heroes open them they'll find the marked city just past the door.
What?
The fourth door is marked "Guest List" and has the names of all the heroes scrawled down below it. Six had said everyone was invited, after all.
Second: The Wizard and Protector's fight has ended, but social media is losing their collective mind over the crater the two had left behind. A significant part of the beach is now gone, filled in with water in the empty space the battle left behind. How did it end? Who won? Is it all over?
Third: Six's show has started. Luka's princess senses will point him straight to the door with the guest list on it, and he'll know he's meant to enter. Courtesy of some time nonsense, even if the heroes take their time entering from the mountain-side of the door... they'll all arrive at the same time in the monster space. They won't all arrive back on the mountain at the same time, though, instead they'll go back at the end in the order they went through in. First in, first out, after a shared same-time-Six-showdown fight.
But is it a fight?
The Weather
- Cloudy.
- 52°F / 11°C
- Still chilly!
Prompts:
- 5:00pm Mountain, General Post: Any character interactions atop the mountain or in any of the towns before the heroes go to face Six can be added here. Five and Ten both say they won't be joining the heroes to watch the show, they weren't invited.
- 5:30pm Onward: Monster Theatre: When the heroes arrive in Six's space, they'll be surprised to see that it's set up very much like a movie theatre. There are exactly enough plush, reclining chairs for all the heroes to have one each. At the front of the room is a big red curtain that's down, with a sign over it stating "Take your seats, the show will be starting soon!"

"《You piss-drowned little sewer rat.》" The insult, oft used in unsavory circles to call someone a liar and a coward, is growled out in a deep and guttural Koskenkorvan. It's the first time today that Garrot's felt sure about anything.
His wrists might be bound, but his hands aren't, so both snap their fingers. Barely-visible clouds of golden-bronze dust form before his chair, and suddenly there are two Garrots; one facing the rest of the audience and one facing the stage.
"Who needs a hand?" The one facing the group is doing the talking, adhering to the Law of Conservation of Hands before snapping his fingers again and causing the Garrot in the seat to disappear. "I've got plenty to go around." The Monkey Knight is smirking, clearly pleased with himself as both Garrots do little jazz hands.
no subject
Even as he asks for help, he's also clenching his fists, shifting his legs against the bindings. He manages to get a half an inch between his back and the chair, and he holds himself there, refusing to be pulled back into place even though he's clearly shivering with the effort of it. Please help him.

"I really wish this was under better circumstances..." Then he sighs, clearly indicating he wouldn't mind seeing Gyre restrained again. Maybe some sexual humor will lighten the mood? Garrot can see Gyre's clenched fists and the movement of his legs and the tension in his body. Jokes aren't helpful enough. So instead, he wraps one hand gently around his friend's fist.
"You're okay. I might have to break the chair, but I've got you." See, he's got no idea whether he can do anything, and that's plenty frustrating. So instead, his eyes shift from their typical dark green to a vibrant teal. "Can you do anything with your shields to help?" The question is dropped offhand as Garrot momentarily disregards Gyre to look past him and at his chair. Four's magic realm was shoddy and empty, there's gotta be something he can work with here...
no subject
But what will stand out are the softly glowing lines along Gyre's arms and legs, like he has strings wrapped lightly around his limbs.
What are those?
They can't be touched, they seem like they're in the fabric of Gyre's clothing if Garrot tries to touch them.
They're on Garrot, both Garrots, too. If he looks around the room, they're on everyone.
What the hell?

His entire body jolts in surprise when Garrot puts his hand on him, and he can't help this little flash of angry fear, baring his teeth at him. He definitely hisses at him here before finding words again. "Then do it," he snarls. He'll be more interested in comforting words when he can move again, shaking his head sharply to the question about his shield.
"I won't get hurt if you smash it." And that's about all he can offer unfortunately.
no subject
"I'm gonna aim for the armrests. If you gotta move, kick your legs." His tone is steady, almost cold as his knife glows and becomes a sturdy fire axe. He doesn't want Gyre's movements to mess with his aim. That'd suck! So that axe is brought outward to his side before moving with deadly precision right to where the armrest meets the frame.
CRACK! Garrot doesn't even acknowledge Gyre in the chair as he pulls the axe out like it's a butter knife, takes a big step towards the other side of the chair, and does the same thing. CRACK! The axe gets pulled again, but this time the haft comes to rest in Garrot's other hand.
"How's that?" As much as he wants to do the same with the legs, he did just tell Gyre to kick his legs, so maybe he'll calm down a little first?
no subject
The axe meets a steel wall just on the other side of the armrest, and a brilliant flash crackles up Gyre's shield. He squints slightly against the light, his eyes darting to the other side as Garrot swings again. He trusts him, and then the flash of light against his shield. This one winds him a little, the effort of that precise placement and the strength he put behind it hitting him all at once. He takes a hard breath to steady himself, shaking his head slightly.
"Better," he grunts, immediately moving to yank the restraints off his arms. He'll do the legs too in a second unless Garrot's got plans for them.
"Thank you. Is everyone else out?"
no subject
Then he chuckles to himself and turns around, lining his legs up with where Gyre's sat. His ass is just right there staring Gyre in the face. The jokesy closeness is about all Garrot feels he can to do help Gyre's anxieties: deflect worry with humor! But then he brings his arms and that axe over his head and sends a fluid chop down into the part of chair between his legs. It might not destroy the restraints, but it could probably knock them loose if nothing else. So with his job done, Garrot turns around and takes a step back so there's some space, but he's still smiling nice and warm as he offers a hand.
"Can you stand, or do you need to catch your breath?" Yep, he caught that shift in breathing, but owning his responsibility to help others when it really matters sure takes an axe to his bravado.
no subject
He doesn't get a chance to say any of that though before there's a whole ass in his face, forcing him to lean back from messing with his leg restraints. He blinks in surprise at it, staring. Looking up Garrot's back. Staring more. He's so fucking big, and in very different circumstances, Gyre would take this invitation that Garrot is very definitely putting in front of him.
Instead, he watches the muscles in his back shift and tense, and he becomes very aware that there's an axe coming towards him again. He barely gets his shield back in place before the axe lands and splits the frame of his chair once again.
He's halfway to his feet before Garrot even offers his hand, but he takes it anyway, taking a step towards him. Too close? He takes a step back.
"I'm fine. I..." he begins, and realizes he's not exactly sure what to say in this moment. He already thanked him, so... business? "We should help everyone else."
no subject
"Yeah." He takes a moment to give that arm a little squeeze. It's partially for the sexual tension since that's who he is as a person, but more importantly he's trying to pry up one of those damn magical strings. But no dice, alas, so instead his still-teal eyes dart towards the others.
"Can you handle more of those shields while I break the chairs?" And then Garrot's eyes focus back on Gyre's lungs. Not to analyze, but to loosely emphasize overexertion. "If not, we can figure something else out."
no subject
"I can do a few more, yeah," he says, following Garrot's gaze downwards? To his chest? "What are you looking at?"
Also uh Gyre doesn't have lungs. His body is a single block of magically animated Stuff. There's air moving through it, but in a nonsensical, entirely nonbiological way.
no subject
"Y-your chest?" His eyes go a little wide at the situation, because, uh, he does know that Gyre is dead and like technically doesn't breathe, but- "People breathe a lot when they're tired and you seemed kind of winded from that and I wanted to make sure you were-"
Deep breath. A single finger held up in a "please hold" sort of gesture.
"I haven't seen you do much with those shields, so just..." His eyes dart around all awkward and shifty-like. Garrot was so dashing and cool (in his mind) and then flew too close to the sun. "Just don't push it. I'll rip these chairs apart my selves if I have to."
The clone Garrot watching the stage chuckles.
no subject
"I've been practicing, but uh, you hit hard. It takes a lot of focus to make them strong enough," he explains as best he can. "I can do a few more, like I said. I want to work on my stamina." And he winks?! Is he flirting? Maybe.
Either way, he shifts to move towards the next strapped down knight, trying to help as many people as he can before something else terrible happens.
