Day 1: Evening
Evening: 5:00pm - Midnight
[ IRL Timeframe: March 11th - March 18th, 2019 ]The first day has come to a close, the only things left to do are get some food and get some rest. Fortunately the residents of Bamborough are hosting a party to congratulate the heroes on their first victory, unfortunately it's running for several hours this evening. There's only so much time for sleep. What kind of balance will your hero try to strike?
Unfortunately for everyone, the evil-allured knights will be treated to a rude wake-up surprise when they finally go to sleep. No matter when they finally set their head down to rest, they all wake up at the same time, in the same place. Only the evil-allured knights will have access to this post, click to see if you've been chosen.
The good-allured knights, meanwhile, are free of a visit tonight with the Princess and the Protector. The two of them, however, are due to have a chat. Questions have to be answered, after all! He's dressed in his usual attire:
He's the same height as Luka with dark skin and vivid blue eyes that match the color of the sky. He has wicked winged white eyeliner to accent his eyes and curly black hair with white tips piled on top of his head, it's a wonder how it stays up there. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, he's wearing a pajama robe that looks either blue or silver depending how it's touched or how it moves. Most importantly is that he's got brass knuckles on both his hands, like he's ready to fight. But he's not here to fight, he's here to give a whisper about what comes next.
The Weather
- Starry Night.
- 64°F / 18°C
- Quite breezy, all the trees are rustling.
Prompts:
- Bamborough Party: To celebrate the defeat of the first monster, a full banquet is being held near the beach in Bamborough. Unlimited food, unlimited drinks, and most importantly of all was a small stockpile of blankets, sheets, pillows, and toiletries to offer any knight who might've forgotten something on the way out here. Naturally, every item is sponsored.
- You're all over Social Media!: Videos were successfully taken of all twelve knights and the princess during the first battle, and now the world is abuzz about what happened! What are they saying about your hero? How did they even get this footage? Or worst of all, how bad are they dissing your camera skills for those that recorded themselves?
- A late night walk: The first day is over, the first monster is dead. How's your character holding up? Do they seek out support from a fellow hero? Do they spend it alone? What kind of night are they having now that it's all real?
- A late night meal: Anyone leaving the Bamborough party late enough will be able to spot that a local late night ramen shop is open for business. If your hero hasn't quite eaten enough, they can drop by for a bite. But be warned, a certain sleepy villain is getting a bite to eat herself. Care to share a ramen bar meal with the enemy?

Those seeing her at the banquet will see an unusually dispirited looking Rory: still with a smile on her face, but noticeably lower energy than earlier. She cleaned the dirt and foliage off her before her arrival, and had a change of clothes (now wearing joveralls (jean overalls) and an orange tshirt), but there are some surface wounds on her arms, still. She's sitting somewhere and replenishing her energy with the free food.

“And that was only number one!”
no subject
“At least that means I get another shot to do more for the team”, she laughs shortly. The earlier enthusiasm about her first hit and subsequent plan to award herself with a ribbon for it had vanished; after the battle was over, she started stressing about if she was pulling her weight, instead. She did fall down pretty bad and it was embarrassing. She doesn’t voice any of these anxieties, though. No one likes a downer.
Her eyes fall on Matilda’s untouched plate. “Have you eaten any? We got to be prepared for next time, you know! Here, have one of my sandwiches.”
no subject
The offer of the sandwich is enough to bring back the flush to Matilda’s cheeks, and she grins and reaches over to take one. “Thanks. You’re right, we all need to be our best!”
no subject
She grabs a sandwich of her own and bites into it, glad that Matilda seemed to have cheered up. It was brightening her own mood, as well. "I'm still bummed out about the swimsuit thing, by the way! I'm totally going to see if I could buy one somewhere when I can."

“Hi there! Rat knight, right?”
no subject
"Yeah, you're Rory right? That was pretty cool with the spear, you got to claim the first hit. I uh...well I wanted to congratualte everyone on a job well done and...I haven't gotten to know everyone yet but Zafika said you were nice so..."
no subject
She smiles brightly at the mention of Zafika, too. "You're friends with them, too? They were my first friend here! They're so nice."
no subject
"Yeah I was watching it from my phone. And yeah, I'm...really happy to be their friend. They're really nice."

At least, he's trying not to pay attention to people. Unfortunately, his eyes land on Rory as he passes her and he can't help but pause. She's the one that had run after the monster first, right? He looks her over briefly, and as subtly as he can, before his gaze finds the cuts on her arms. Almost immediately, his plan to ignore everyone gets tossed out the window, and he hears himself speak up before he can stop himself.
"Did you get hurt?"
no subject
"Oh, I'm fine, it's nothing really!" she insists.
no subject
"Can I see?" He offers a hand out to her as he speaks, his voice incredibly soft and incredibly gentle. "Are you sure it's nothing?"
no subject
She does remove her hand from the scrape so he can take a look, though.
no subject
"Did you fall?" he murmurs, his brow furrowing softly.

Unlike Rory, Joanna's taken no injuries, but she's got a similar worn down energy, and she isn't managing a smile yet. The very beginning of the fight was overshadowed by the arguments about who should take the lead, what strategies to use... and then some of the younger, more energetic sorts got a rush on it. It's enough to reinforce her worries about how much she'll be able to contribute.
no subject
"Don't worry, it's nothing!" she reassures. "Um, Joanna, right? I'm Rory. Tiger Knight."
no subject
She takes a seat, encouraged enough by the warm greeting, and considers Rory for a second. "Now, please, correct me if I'm wrong... but I think that I recognize you. And not in the same way as our, uh, celebrity over there."
Somewhere in the distance, Terrence may be pouring champagne at this very moment.
no subject
Except, of course, when it was one of the reasons the other Knight had felt so familiar. She's so relieved to hear she wasn't alone in that feeling.
"But... wow, right? I know what you mean! You aren't from [Village Name], are you?!"
i like to imagine she's pronouncing those brackets
The odds of anyone from their town being chosen were already astonishingly low, given its size compared to the world's population. But two from the same town...
"Not originally, but... Maybe as long as you've been alive?" She guesses, and continues on without a pause long enough to pressure Rory to answer her age. "A couple decades. Close enough for government work, and all that."

"Hi Rory. Are you doing okay?" They glance up at her, even though they can't see her with their blindfold, but the gesture is at least polite to do. And they're not luckily breaking their neck too badly trying to do this.
no subject
"Zafika! Yeah, I'm fine!" she says, but her voice is noticeably more tired than when they last talked. At least she had cheered up since she arrived at the party. "How about you? How was the battle?"
no subject
"Say, how about you come with me to the beach? I haven't had the chance to enjoy the ocean, I'd like to see how pretty it is on such a nice night like this." And some privacy wouldn't hurt either, they don't want to ask Rory anything personal when surrounded by this many people.
no subject
Rory's face brightens up about the beach offer. "I'd love to do that, wow! Some fresh air wouldn't hurt either of us I think."
