Day 1: Evening
Evening: 5:00pm - Midnight
[ IRL Timeframe: March 11th - March 18th, 2019 ]The first day has come to a close, the only things left to do are get some food and get some rest. Fortunately the residents of Bamborough are hosting a party to congratulate the heroes on their first victory, unfortunately it's running for several hours this evening. There's only so much time for sleep. What kind of balance will your hero try to strike?
Unfortunately for everyone, the evil-allured knights will be treated to a rude wake-up surprise when they finally go to sleep. No matter when they finally set their head down to rest, they all wake up at the same time, in the same place. Only the evil-allured knights will have access to this post, click to see if you've been chosen.
The good-allured knights, meanwhile, are free of a visit tonight with the Princess and the Protector. The two of them, however, are due to have a chat. Questions have to be answered, after all! He's dressed in his usual attire:
He's the same height as Luka with dark skin and vivid blue eyes that match the color of the sky. He has wicked winged white eyeliner to accent his eyes and curly black hair with white tips piled on top of his head, it's a wonder how it stays up there. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, he's wearing a pajama robe that looks either blue or silver depending how it's touched or how it moves. Most importantly is that he's got brass knuckles on both his hands, like he's ready to fight. But he's not here to fight, he's here to give a whisper about what comes next.
The Weather
- Starry Night.
- 64°F / 18°C
- Quite breezy, all the trees are rustling.
Prompts:
- Bamborough Party: To celebrate the defeat of the first monster, a full banquet is being held near the beach in Bamborough. Unlimited food, unlimited drinks, and most importantly of all was a small stockpile of blankets, sheets, pillows, and toiletries to offer any knight who might've forgotten something on the way out here. Naturally, every item is sponsored.
- You're all over Social Media!: Videos were successfully taken of all twelve knights and the princess during the first battle, and now the world is abuzz about what happened! What are they saying about your hero? How did they even get this footage? Or worst of all, how bad are they dissing your camera skills for those that recorded themselves?
- A late night walk: The first day is over, the first monster is dead. How's your character holding up? Do they seek out support from a fellow hero? Do they spend it alone? What kind of night are they having now that it's all real?
- A late night meal: Anyone leaving the Bamborough party late enough will be able to spot that a local late night ramen shop is open for business. If your hero hasn't quite eaten enough, they can drop by for a bite. But be warned, a certain sleepy villain is getting a bite to eat herself. Care to share a ramen bar meal with the enemy?

"Good cause you're comfy. Maybe I'll spend the night just like this~" He's definitely teasing. Mostly teasing? Somewhere in there. Mostly, he's just content in this moment, sighing happily as he settles into place atop them.
no subject
"Maybe not here. Too many people who are still close by." But they're not refusing the idea. They wouldn't mind getting to spend the night like this, cuddled up to Gyre in a way. His weight on them isn't uncomfortable for them at all, strangely enough, but they decide not to think about it too much, and instead enjoy the closeness.
no subject
"We could head deeper in," he says, nodding towards the trees. He's got no problem rolling around in the grass. In fact, it's often his preferred way to cuddle with people honestly, and he's hoping Zafika shares his opinion.
no subject
So, the decision is actually very easy. At once, They push themselves to a sitting position, pulling themselves away from beneath Gyre with their arms and quickly stand up, the tip of their tail dragging along his spine as their tail unwraps from around him, and they quickly remove it from his reach. No bold moves just yet. "Alright, let's go then. I've had more than enough of crowds and chatter for today."
no subject
"Help me up?" he whimpers, offering a hand up to them. Look, you threw him in the grass and now he's just the saddest boy. Don't mind the twinkle of amusement in his eye please.
no subject
However, hearing him whimper makes them feel bad for a moment. But just for a moment, until they see the twinkle of amusement in his eyes, and just roll their eyes as they take Gyre's hand into theirs and help him get up. "Well someone's being dramatic. Wasn't this your idea?"
no subject
"Sure, but I'd never just shove you into the grass. You're lucky I'm not an angry person~" He's clearly teasing, taking a hard left towards Craydon.
"Do you want to come to my camp, or will anywhere more private do?"
no subject
They return his teasing with their own, glancing up at him, and honestly, they can still hardly believe that they don't have to worry about needing their blindfold near him. "I'm fine with whichever... I'll let you decide where you want to take me, to make up for shoving you into the grass like that~"
no subject
After that though, he returns to teasing, purposefully taking a step closer to them so that he bumps his shoulder against them. "It's absolutely different. You were already in the grass, and I~ took advantage. You dumped me. Like a sack!"
no subject
When he bumps his shoulder against them, they take a few steps to the side before they recover their balance, and raise a brow at him. Oh so he wanted to play that kind of game huh? "If I remember right, even if you didn't mean to, you were the one who pushed me down to the grass in the first place. And you made a big scene about collapsing into the grass all on your own, I gave you a chance to support yourself but you decided to be dumped there." Then, they return the shoulder bump, their tail swatting at his legs gently. They don't have the physical strength to make him stagger like they did, so the gesture will have to do.
no subject
"Well, then I think we can both agree we've been equally in the wrong, then. Now we'll have to-- uh..." Wait. He shakes his head. He was definitely about to make a joke about the justice system, which is an absurd nonsense bureaucracy from his perspective. He's definitely made fun of it with his buddies before, played mock prison when he was a child, when jail sounded like a bit of funny fiction their parents told them to scare them.
But Zafika was actually in prison before this. His words turn to ash in his mouth, and he clears his throat awkwardly, trying to cover for himself.
"Sorry, uh, we're not far now."
no subject
They quickly get a feeling of what he was planning to say, and they step little closer, tail brushing affectionately at the bit of his leg that they had swatted a moment ago. "It's alright, I can handle those kind of jokes, I know you don't mean harm by it. But I appreciate the sentiment. It's sweet that you try to avoid saying something that might make me uncomfortable."
no subject
"Keeping people in cages is evil. It was never... real to me. When I was a child." He sighs deeply, glancing in their direction. There's this deep fondness in his eyes, though he looks quite sad thinking about anything to do with their life before this. "I shouldn't have joked about it then either."
no subject
Not that they get to think about what to say for much longer, not for comforting him at least, because then he glances in their direction, and their chest aches when they see the look in his eyes. They're quick to look away from him themselves, uncomfortable tightness settling to their chest. "You were a child... kids don't know any better then, I don't think you should be held accountable for such things at this point anymore. Besides, isn't it the point that as a kid you do stupid things so you'll learn from them?"
no subject
But no, they're just forgiving him again. He nods after a moment, still keeping his eyes averted. "I suppose so. It's not as if guilt will change anything, anyway." He hums softly, a sound that's almost a laugh again.
"Thank you for the perspective."
no subject
Which is true, but then again, they're also used to people saying whatever the hell they want to say to them, without really considering if it's nice or not. But with Gyre, they know he doesn't mean to offend, and that's enough for them.
no subject
"You deserve a little gentleness, you know?" he says, and there's a little bit of a purr in his voice. He's flirting, but he does mean it too, dropping their hands back down. "Just cause you can take it, doesn't mean I want to force you to."
no subject
"Gentleness, huh...? And should I take it that I'll be getting that gentleness from you tonight?" Flirt, they can respond to, easily enough. Genuine kindness like Gyre's? Absolutely not. So, they focus on the flirting aspect of his words, with that they know what to do.
no subject
He lets his voice drop into that rasp they'd responded to so nicely earlier, saying, "I'll start there. We'll see where it goes from there, pretty thing."
no subject
"Oh, sounds like someone's coming up with a plan for the rest of the night~"
no subject
Which is to say, they crest a slight incline, and suddenly there's a camp! It's taking up a little clearing in the trees and it's extremely nicely kept even at first glance. There's a fire pit dug into the ground, and lined with rows of gently polished rocks. Off to the side, there's a canvas tent that's just barely big enough for a Gyre-sized bedroll and his emptied backpack. It's been zipped shut except for a little space left at the top. There's a little pile of chopped wood beside the tent. Across from the fire, there's a rack set up with three cleaned rabbit? skins hung on a pole to dry.
Gyre immediately moves a little quicker, letting go of Zafika's hand as he heads into camp. He moves a couple of the smaller rocks, and pulls out a wooden box, taking the top off and taking out a pack of matches. The pack has the logo of an Amarosian bar called The Waystation on it, and he flips it open. He's going to get a fire started immediately here.
"Uh, do you want a tour or anything?" he asks, and he's mostly joking. There isn't anything else but this for him.
no subject
The moment they see Gyre's camp, they're filled with nostalgia and are absolutely entrhalled by the small, extremely cosy looking camp. Their tail does this delighted swish behind their back as they look around the camp, and honestly, they hadn't even realised that they'd missed this aspect of their life before prison. Getting to camp out in the woods beneath the starry sky, falling asleep while listening to the quiet, peaceful crackling of a fire keeping them warm.
Their eyes flick back to Gyre when he speaks again, and they give this quiet, happy chuckle as they walk over to the fire pit too. If he's getting a fire started, they know exactly where they want to be. "No, I don't think that's necessary." They sit down a little bit away from the stones lining the fire pit, watching Gyre as he moves about.
no subject
He watches it grow for a moment or two, making sure it's stable before he walks around the pit to their side. "Comfortable?" he asks softly, smiling gently into the fire. He'll sit as soon as he knows they don't need anything else basically.
no subject
As he asks them if they're comfortable, they look up at him with a soft smile, their tail snaking up to wrap loosely around his wrist. "Plenty. Just, uh... don't expect me to move anywhere from here. I've missed the warmth of an open fire. Never mind that I can't regulate my body temperatures."
no subject
"By the fire sounds like a nice place to spend a night~" he purrs, letting his voice drop into a rasp. He folds his knees and sits beside them in one clean, smooth motion. He's turned to face them, and he watches their face for a few beats.
"You're beautiful, you know?"
